The Will

With just a week left in New York, everyone was pretty much ready to get everything over and done with. 

It was going to be a jam-packed week. The gang was wanting to spend time with Brittany and Santana and the family before they moved back to Ohio. So they planned to visit with them all every night during this final week. 

Sunday evening

"Moms and dads, do you all mind watching Kyle and Santino tomorrow morning, Brittany and I need to go to Dr. Taylor's lawyer's office for the reading of the Will?"  Santana asked both sets of parents while Brittany was in the living room with Kyle and Santino.

'Yes, of course, we'll be happy to. What time do you have to be there?" Maribel asked

"We have to arrive before 10 am," Santana replied

"Are you nervous about tomorrow Mijia?" Manuel asked

"No, not really. I mean Glenn basically told us beforehand about the details before he passed what to expect." Santana said softly

" Do you know if anyone else will be there or is it just the two of you and his lawyer?" Whitney asked

"Glenn told us that he had listed Britt and me as the beneficiary of his estate and life insurance policies as well as Kyle. And when we already started the paperwork for Social Security for Kyle and receiving the death benefits from both his deceased parents and we did explain to them that we were moving to Ohio at the end of this month. We are just waiting for the outcome of that, we submitted all the necessary paperwork, death certificate, social security numbers, our new address in Ohio, as well as my and Britt's social security information and the guardianship paperwork. " Santana said looking over at Kyle playing with Santino on the floor and noticed Brittany looking at her. She smiles and nods back 

"Are you nervous about tomorrow Mijia?" Maribel asked

"A little. I'm just a little worried as all." Santana stated

"I can understand you being nervous, but worried. Worried about what?" Miguel asked

"Oh, you know. Worried about what the lawyer has to say when Britt and I walk in and you know how people judge our lifestyle and how that it may do more harm than good for Kyle's wellbeing" Santana whispered

"New York and California are for same-sex marriages. New York has been since July 24, 2011, so I don't think you have anything to worry about Sweetie." Whitney stated

"True, but, I'll be happy once this is all over and done with," Santana said

Both sets of parents all looked at Santana and nodded their heads in agreement with Santana's last remark.

The next morning came faster than a blink of an eye.  And Brittany and Santana were up and getting ready to leave when Kyle entered the kitchen all dressed up and said "Mom's I"m ready to go?"

Everyone stopped and stared.

"Kyle, Hunny, are you sure you want to go with us today?" Brittany squatted down to be eye to eye with Kyle

"Yes, mom, I am.' Kyle said as he went to hold Brittany and Santana's hands.

"Well, okay then. Let's go. Mom's and Dad's we'll be back as soon as we can. I just feed Santino and changed him, so he should be good for a while. But, if not, there are several bags of my breastmilk in the freezer." Santana said.

"Okay Mijia, just please be careful and text us when you can. Love you all" Maribel cooed

Diego and Cortez text Brittany to let her know that they were downstairs.
