ELLA HAD BEEN planning this surprise with Logan, James, and Carlos for weeks.

Big Time Rush was currently on another World Tour. Their first two legs in North America and South America were complete, and they had about 2 months left until they were back in L.A.

It had been one of the most fun tours they have had, following closely behind their first world tour when Ella was their opening act.

This time, Ella wasn't joining them due to a conflicting schedule. And when she saw Sydney, Australia as one of their tour locations, she was filled with jealousy. She had been meaning to travel there for ages, and she was especially sad because she would be missing Kendall's birthday.

However, an idea popped into her head. Just because she couldn't go on the full tour with them didn't mean she couldn't take a break and, perhaps, visit them.

She thought it would be the best opportunity to surprise Kendall for her birthday, and her heart warmed at the thought.

Immediately, Ella texted her friends about this plan, and they, of course, were excited beyond belief she would be joining them for a small while.

She coordinated the schedule with Gustavo and Kelly, and everything was set.

Yesterday morning, the guys landed in Sydney, and Ella's flight was a few hours behind—just two hours before the show started.

While on the plane, her stomach filled with butterflies out of eagerness and even anxiousness. A part of her felt terrible. She was always on top of time differences, and she knew it was November 2nd in Australia. Therefore, she was aware she was fully ignoring Kendall on his birthday.

She attempted to ignore that thought by watching movies on the flight and taking occasional naps. She knew her actions would be explained in just a few more hours.

Kendall would be lying if he said he wasn't bothered by how much his birthday didn't feel like his birthday. Back in the U.S., it was only November 1st so no one was wishing him anything just yet. But it was November 2nd today, and it had been crickets except for his best friends, Gustavo, and Kelly. It also didn't help that a show was scheduled on this particular date.

To make things worse, he didn't even get a birthday message or call from Ella. He couldn't fully blame her, though. The Earth's rotation wasn't exactly her fault.

However, he knew her. There was no way she wasn't taking the time difference into account. But as the morning and afternoon went on, and there was no sign of Ella, he could only just miss her more and more.

Ella finally landed. The 15 hour flight was not to be taken lightly.

After meeting up with the driver Gustavo sent for her, she stretched her arms out basking in the warmth of Sydney.

This trip was so worth it, she thought.

After getting settled in the same hotel the guys were staying at, she started to get ready for their show.

After arriving at the theater, she flashed the backstage pass Gustavo had left in her room and was promptly let in. She made it a mission to steer clear of fans the entire time in order to keep the surprise up.
