Chapter 31: Training With The Gang

I was walking in the hallway, smiling, and some people looked at me like I'm some weird person. The stares and gossip had died down after two weeks or so.

Papa made sure that they know that I'm harmless and that I already got a hold of my ability. Even newspapers were distributed everyday just to inform everyone that no myth or rumor will happen because of me.

The first week was hell. Everyone was staring at me, but they did not dare to come too close to me. Para akong may sakit at sina ate, Calla, Jerome, Harry, at Brian lang ang nakakasalamuha ko halos araw-araw.

The second week, I guess they got tired. Unti-unti nilang tinitigil ang pagtingin sa akin at may ibang ngumingiti na rin. But it was still a mess nonetheless. Ang ibang professor ay pinapahirapan ako dahil akala nila ay hinahamon ko sila. Imagine, I'm a threat just because I answered their questions with no sweat?

Today's the day that I received a memo that I can finally stop with the sealing drug. I'm now free and definitely happy. I'm walking to the side of the academy to go underground just to get a check up. Doctor Lee wanted to make sure that I'm perfectly fine.

"Where are you going?" I slightly looked at him and continued walking.

"Somewhere..." ayan lang ang tanging nasabi ko bago niya ako akbayan at sumabay sa akin.

Agad kong tinanggal ang kamay niya sa balikat ko. I gave him a glare before turning to the side of the academy. Tumawa lang siya at tinaas ang kamay sa ere.

I may have been free from the obvious stares, but rumors are still circulating about me and Jerome. Hindi na kasama si Harry dahil natatakot na sila sa kanya. He told them that we're just friends the day I was in the council. Siya rin ang nag-suspend sa dalawang estudyante.

"Underground? Sama." I rolled my eyes. Jerome's starting to warm up on me. Hindi na siya laging nakasimangot sa akin at nakakausap ko paminsan ng matino. Paminsan.

"We'll train later? God I miss a good fight." Okay, I'm confirming it. He's just using me. Hinawakan ko ang ilang bloke at hinawakan na ni Jerome ang natira. The bricks parted and we headed inside.

Did you know that there was actually a staircase on the side? Nasa gilid ito ng bumubukas na mga bloke at maayos naman. There are light strips indicating the ends of the stairs so we won't fall. Bumaba ako doon at sumunod naman si Jerome. For all I know, he's just wasting his time on me just to get away from class.

Huling subject na at na-excuse ako upang magpa-check up. I opened the door and the white room filled my eyes. I went right and looked at the signages on each door.

Dr. Ferdiano Lee, MD, PhD

I knocked at the door with that sign. Umupo si Jerome sa upuan sa tapat ng pintuan. He sat with his legs crossed and he already shut his eyes. Umiling na lang ako at hinintay na bumukas ang pinto.

Good day, Simone... oh." His gaze went to Jerome. "Jerome Smith is here..." tinignan ko din siya at umirap. Talagang hinahanap lang niya ay matutulugan. Tumingin ako kay Dr. Lee at ngumiti sa kanya.

"He accompanied me. Don't mind him." Natigilan si Dr. Lee at mabagal na binuksan ang pinto para makapasok ako.

"Are you two a thing?" Agad na sabi ni Dr. Lee na nagpatawa sa akin.

Umiling ako. "He's just... someone." I said and he nodded, not asking for more.

The check up consisted mostly of urine tests, blood tests, and other tests I forgot. Maayos naman daw, for now. I stood up in the chair and bowed down to Dr. Lee.
