Chapter 45: I Love You, Simone
Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.
"No, no, no, no..." Oh gosh, oh gosh.
"Oh please, you're not a vampire, why are you scared of blood?" I looked at her and the metal tube pierced from the back and can be seen in front. My lips quivered and I felt myself lacking breath.
My heart has been beating so much and my chest rises up like I'm lacking too much oxygen, in which I think I am.
I blinked a couple of times before I looked at her. "W-What can I d-do?" I looked at the metal tube.
"Nothing. You can't do anything, my dear." I need to think of a way.
I looked around. "I'm g-going to call someone, w-wait he—'' I stood up and stopped when she grabbed my hand, pushing me to sit down again. Agad ko yong sinunod at tiningnan ang katawan niya.
I can literally hear her unstable breathing. I shakily put both my hands on it to at least try to heal it in a way. She held both my hands and smiled at me. "It's a weapon that can kill both vampires and p-peculiars," she said and coughed out blood.
"Like, dead dead. Nothing can make them alive again if this weapon is used." "I guess someone close to me hates me so much." My forehead creased and released a long big sigh.
I looked around once again. "You'll lose more blood when you talk."
I kept searching for someone but everyone's busy taking their own life in account too. This is a war zone, of course everyone doesn't give a thing about other lives except there's. And I'm sure no one's going to help us.
"Look, just tell me what to do! I'm going to find it for you!" I placed both my hands on my face and shamelessly cried in front of her. What the hell is happening? It's not supposed to be like this.
"Shh," she gently pulled me to her and she patted my back just like mommy did. Except, this is my real mother we're talking about. Lalong nagsimulang tumulo ang luha ko. "My kind daughter can't even bear her evil mother dying. How nice."
I bit my lips and got out of the hug. A pool of blood is already between both of us. And she's asking me why I can't leave her alone here? My agony and hatred doesn't equate to the pain of seeing her in this place.
"I knew about the prophecy." My lips parted and I looked at her, shocked. Prophecy? Me being the last person to save the world? That?
"I noticed the pattern from my parents, and grandparents' journals." She grunted and nodded. "Every peculiar person who acquired all of the abilities was either locked up in an asylum," she stated and looked at me. "Or persecuted to death because they did something wrong."
The myth, the folklore. Someone killed a lot, right? So is it really true? How did they know about it when even my father and the conciliator didn't? I looked at her. Or maybe they did, but they didn't tell me.
My lips parted. "H-How did you know about this?"
She shrugged and put a chunk of my hair behind my ear. "One thing they had in common? They died, Simone. They all died before they could even do it." She pulled my hair close to her and kissed my forehead.
