The Stars Aren't There

A/N- I like Amamota, and I like the occasional friendly Hajime x Souda. Kaito shares a voice actor with Kazuichi, and Hajime shares a voice actor with Rantaro(English). See where I'm going with this? Well...I'm not really going anywhere with it.

Ships: Implied Sonia x Gundham(It's a nice ship)

The story will make sense once it gets farther in! Anyways, let's begin, with a small censored cuss warning, and major spoilers for the entirety of SDR2!

3rd Person POV

Kazuichi and Hajime stood at the beach, watching the waves crash into the sand, and take a few billion grains with each shallow water movements.

"...The stars aren't the same, Haji..." Kazuichi murmured, slowly raising his hand up to recognize where every star should've been.

"I know, Kaz. There's always something wrong on this island. Whether it's Monokuma, the motives, blackened, victims, despair di-"

"I don't want to get into it, Haji." Kazuichi whispered, shivering as the ocean crashed its waves against his bare feet and ankles.

"Ah, sorry about that..." Hajime's sentecne was never finished, as a huge crashing noise was heard from behind them.

Both the boys whipped their heads around, to come face to face with some kicked up sand, and nothing more.

"Someone was spying on us...They knew we'd be out here, or they just came across us..." Hajime muttered.

Kazuichi stayed silent, as Hajime continued.

"I'll go for the thought that they knew our plans, though it is pretty unpleasant, I'll admit."

"Yeah, it's (f word +in') creepy to stalk someone, but I'm not really one to talk..." Kazuichi said sheepishly.

"You don't stalk Sonia, you just follow her around with her acknowledgment. It's not  considered stalking if the person is aware of what you're doing." Hajime explained.

"Still..." Kazuichi dragged off.

"Can we go back to the ocean? They've obviously booked it outta here before we could catch them, anyways.." 

"No, I think I'll end it for tonight. Sorry for bailing on you, Kazuichi, but it's pretty late, anyways. If you wanna stay, just make sure you get back to your cottage before 12:00A.M, okay?" Hajime asked in a softer tone.

Kazuichi nodded, and started back fir the ocean, while soft tapping indicated that Hajime had started walking in the opposite direction.

Kazuichi plopped down on the sand, not minding that his jumpsuit's pant legs were beginning to soak up.

Then, the soft crunching of sand caught his attention, and he whipped his head back around, to see not one, but two people.

Specifically, Gundham and Sonia.

"Oh, Hey Ms. Sonia and Hamster-chan!" Kazuichi said, cheeky smile now prominent on his face as if it was always there.

"Do refrain from calling me that retched nickname, Shark Mortal." Gundham scoffed.

"Hello, Kazuichi! Me and Gundham were just walking by, so we decided to stop and say hello!" Sonia chirped.

Kazuichi nodded, and looked back out to the sky.

"Is there something wrong, Kazuichi?" Sonia asked, tilting her head.

"Do you know if stars are meant to appear here?" Kazuichi asked.

"Of course they would, Shark Mortal! Are you deft enough to blank out even the godly presence of the constellations?!" Gundham exclaimed.

"Look up, Gundham. If I were you, I'd be saying the same."

Gundham and Sonia looked up, and Hundham let out a noise of surprise at the blank, dark sky.

"F-fiend! Have you enough power that you have created a barrier between I, the God of Ice and the Underworld, cannot see though?!" Gundham exclaimed.

"I-impossible! Where have all the stars gone?" Sonia cried.

"I don't know either." Kazuichi whispered.

'But I feel like I should.' He thought.
