General prompt: Maki, a paid assassin, is out and about. Her mission for the night is to kill one of the ambassadors. (Specifically, the ambassador of Calypso, a secluded island. Rumors had spread that their country was building war machines under the ambassador's command. A nervous foreigner had heard of Maki's work, and had specifically traveled to the Kingdom of Hope to order an assassination.) She would've had the job done if there wasn't a counter-agent trying to stop her before the night ended.
Kirumi, a head priest and maid at the castle, was at the wrong place at the wrong time when Maki had inspected the cold body of the man she had drugged. Maki was also at the wrong place at the wrong time, considering she wouldn't be in such a complicated situation had she not been so distracted by the court jester.
Ship: Kirumaki
Time period: estimated to be around 1522(please note that not everything may be historically accurate, though I did try my best with the accuracy and dates)
We already know the drill. ROLL OUT-
(another note, wow it took me 10 days. damn middle school.)

"This poison is branded by an unknown company in the Mono Kingdom," Maki deadpanned, eyeing the bottle of poison.
"Ah, yes! I...am actually the secret heir, if you mind keeping that a secret..." Tsumugi Shirogane blushed sheepishly. "My foster family is the producer!" She continued, as if she hadn't let out a secret that could have her writhing on the floor in a pool of her own blood in seconds.
"...Your secret is safe with me, I suppose..." Maki sighed, tucking the bottle away.
"Oh...oh, wow! Mother always taught me assassins were untrustworthy, so I was a bit worried about coming here, because an assassin killed my birth parents because of their wealth and I was left to the streets with nothing but this coat that was too big on me and a cardboard box in an alle-," a finger was brought to her ranting lips, which shut her up, and made her face burst into a rosy shade of pink.
"It's fine. I don't need your past. My job as an assassin is to stay low, keep quiet, do the job, and get right out. I don't mingle."
"Ah, okay! I'll get out of your way then! Here's my number! Call me when the job's done!" Tsumugi ran out of the - rather nostalgic - alleyway.
Maki took the bottle out immediately, and began inspecting it once more.
A despairingly dangerous detriment to the heartbeat of your victim! One drip drop should make all their blood vessels pop!

"Crap...she never told me that the target would be at some — I don't know, a fancy, rich people ball?!" Maki paced the room, chewing her fingernails in rage, annoyance, and worry.
With little to no information about the target, and a plan as vague as a description of a plastic ball, she was — in other words — screwed.
To top it all off, the assassin that would be on her heels, and watching from afar as a backup incase something went wrong with her, never showed up.
"Aghhh!" She growled, tearing into the pillow next to her.
She gave a resentful look to the beautiful red dress supplied to her from Tsumugi, who just so happened to be a college student, majoring in fashion design(and as side information, minoring business).
Though it wasn't exactly her style, she wasn't one to complain. She didn't have a choice. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't turn down such a gorgeous ballgown. Even a woman like herself, who would possibly never need it again.
