CHAPTER 17

Helaena

"Everything is all set, you don't have to worry anything. Nakausap ko na rin ang mga organizers at assure nila na magiging maganda yung resulta ng event."

Tumango-tango ako habang nakikinig kay Theia. She was explaining to me about our upcoming launching event for H&T's new product that is going to be held in one of the best venues in town.

"Any follow up questions?" tanong niya habang malawak parin ang ngiti. "Hurry up, I'm in the mood right now."

"Sino-sino ang mga guests?" tanong ko habang binabasa ang sample ng invitation card na bigay niya. When it comes to important events like this, I always let Theia make the arrangements due to the amount of connection she has with people in our society. It's amazing actually, and I always admire her for that.

"Some important guests, endorsers and colleagues." sagot niya at ngumisi ng pilya. "I invited Mr. Roi Ventura as well."

Agad nasira hitsura ko pagkarinig sa pangalan ng lalaking 'yon. "Theia please, I don't like him, ilang beses ko ng binasted yan."

"Oh come on, Helaena. Mabait naman si Roi Ventura ah."

"No. I'm not into him."

"Why not? He's handsome and a successful bachelor. Mas matino siya kumpara sa ex mong manloloko. Why not giving it a try?"

"Yes, gwapo si Roi, but he's not my type at all. Huwag mo ng ipilit sakin yan."

"Just give him a chance." pagsusumamo niya pa. "He's a great catch. Matangkad, matipuno at mayaman. He definitely fits your standards. What more can you ask for?"

I blowout a heavy breath. "Hindi pa ako handang pumasok sa isang relasyon sa ngayon. Kaka-recover ko lang kay Dylan. I need a break." final na pagkasabi ko. "Anyways, sino ang mga endorsers natin?"

"Mostly IBN network talents." sagot naman niya. "At isa na doon ang ex ng pinsan mong si Lovely."

A naughty idea came into my mind. "I'll invite Lovely on the launching event."

Theia grinned wickedly. "I know what you're up to."

Mahina akong natawa. "I want to shake her world a bit. Alam mo naman ang isang 'yon, hindi pa nakakarecover sa ex girlfriend niya."

Theia chuckled. "By the way, kumusta nga pala yung performance ni Sue sa trabaho niya? Is there any complains you want to share?"

Umiling ako at magaang ngumiti. "You don't have to worry about Sue. Masipag at masunurin siya sa trabaho niya. Hindi rin siya reklamador o maarte. Wala akong naging problema sa kanya so far."

Masayang tumango si Theia, kapagkuwan nag-hesitate. "She's not courting anyone here in La Greta right?"

Nag-kibit balikat ako. "I have no idea. Hindi naman ako nag-tanong." Actually, ako yung hinaharot ni Sue.

"Wala ba siyang naging crush dito?" tanong pa niya, she looked so worried.

"I honestly can't answer that kasi hindi naman ako nag-tanong sa kanya tungkol sa mga bagay na yan." Girl, your stepsister is obviously into me!

Nakahinga ng maluwag si Theia at pagkatapos tumingin sakin ng deretso sa mata. "How about you?"

I confusingly pointed myself. "How about me?"

Theia became serious. "You're not crushing over Sue right?"

Girl you have no idea. But for the sake of our friendship, I'll try my best to stop myself.
