The entire office was filled with suspense. Everyone knew there was deception but was still being dragged along in a game of cat and mouse; Rou noticed as he was about to hand in paperwork and stayed by the door.

"Fleur, is your regime prepared?" Edward declared in a polite but booming voice. "Indeed it is, Sir Edward.". Fleur turned to Aster with a grin on her face. "Happy to be working with you." Her sentence was mostly audible, but only herself and Edward heard her subsequent word, "Intruder...".

"Well this is awkward...", says Aster, backing away slowly after a sudden silence. "Wait, don't leave!" Edward shouted. "Here is your assignment.". The black haired boy was handed a piece of paper that gave him everything he needed to know, Fleur began explaining.

"You will be going after someone who is allegedly an associate of Eve Renegard, rival syndicate boss of the local area." Fleur began shaking, it was only recently she had performed her own first assassination, and now she had to assist the person she hated? Seems rigged!

Edward tipped his fingers on the table "That bitch, and to think she's an ex friend of mine...". Fleur grew more and more anxious, she knew this was a vendetta and she would never let herself go so far as to include it as part of someone's induction.

But would she? Aster seemed like he ruined her future, what if when he becomes a made man he gets promoted really fast? What if he becomes Edward's underboss to fill the vacant slot? No! She can't think that, she doesn't want another Rou in her life!

"Seems easy enough. Associates tend to be less powerful don't they? You know me, always taking down strong opponents!" Aster was back to being the worst kind of cocky. "Enough of that! Your duel was a draw! Don't let that think that you're better than Rou, scum..." Edward had to interfere, he's fine with a good fight, but not in his office, it was his temple.

Rou was still outside the office. In his impatience, he knocked on the door, hoping he'd at least get called in. "Enter!", exclaimed his boss as he peered in. "Out in the field are we Fleur? I'll be sure to cook you something for when you get back!", Rou was aware that the race for underboss had strained he and Fleur's friendship, and he'd do anything to stop the pressure getting to her. "That'd be lovely Rou! Right Fleur?", Fleur wasn't having any of it.

"Stop! There is enough pressure on me as it is and I don't need you rubbing it in! I'm not a baby to be coddled! I'm leaving!" Fleur stormed out of the office with everyone else looking back at her. "Just go Aster, I don't want you making any more trouble here...". Aster was pissed with the vampire once more, "But Rou-". "Enough! Get out and get your job done!" Edward snapped, making Aster run away, not in fear, but in anger.

With the tensions rising, the regime put on their armour, ready for a mission that will determine Aster's fate, and could result in life or death.
