It was nightfall in the mansion, Rou's regime returned home with the document, refusing to read it until they were in the presence of Edward. The meeting was at 9pm, Aster looked nervous. "I swear if the note is just to rat me out, I'll hunt them down and kill them.", he mumbled to Rou.

"Now Aster, any kind of direct attack like that is handled by the consigliere, we can just tell Vox.", Rou said, trying to console Aster. Aster just brushed him off, "They wanted me out when I first joined, what's the difference now?", he said angrily. "Well for starters you're a made man on my squad, any hit made against you by anyone inside or outside the syndicate will have to get through me first.", replied Rou.

Rou knocked on Edward's door, "Enter.", he exclaimed. The group entered the office, with the document in Aster's possession. "Good job men, and thank you for leaving this unread until you were in my presence. I'm surprised even you didn't take a peak, intruder...". Aster looked away from Edward to ignore his rude comment.

Edward read the document out loud for the squad to hear. "In this world of crime, Armageddon is near. Moments in a cage, living in fear. Instilling hate, nearing closer always here.", he recited clearly. "Who knew the traitor could be so poetic? Sounds better than most people here.", Aster exclaimed jokingly. Edward took a sip of his wine to avoid a direct confrontation, "You know we can still kill you with the right permission?", he threatened.

Rou broke the tension by charging the subject. "Ahem, do any of you know what this note means?", he said, awkwardly. Demitris reviewed the text, "By the looks of it, the intruder is just going to keep attacking the syndicates in bigger and bigger ways until we're gone.", he pondered.

Tamara responded to Demitris's interpretation, "That seems like a good answer Demitris, but there's still one thing that bothers me. That last line 'nearing closer always here.'. Edward, did the traitor specify their rank?", he asked. Edward took another sip of wine before responding. "No, I believe they didn't. They didn't even specify if they were a made man or not.", he responded.

This gave Aster an idea, "Wait! What if we research every member of the syndicate? Surely then we could pinpoint at least 2 or 3 people who the traitor could be.". Rou smiled proudly when his soldier came up with such an idea. "Actually that could work. Sir, is it possible that my squad goes out without me for the next few assignments, I don't care if I don't get paid, I have plenty saved up.", he said, extending Aster's idea.

"Alright then Rou, here's the deal, you and the scum that suggested this before you will be working in the library with one of my other loyal capos. Intruder, don't mess this up, I will be conducting own research as well.", Edward relaxed in his chair, getting some prior rest before all the research he and the others have to do from tomorrow.

The squad returned to their rooms, combat without Rou would be difficult considering the encounter earlier in the day. But they'll pull through it, Rou left them each a solo assignment, that he felt was best for their ability. The exception to this was Aster, who was due to conduct research alongside Rou and one of the other caporegime.

As the day drew to a close, it was obvious that tension in the syndicate was going to rise, much of it out of anyone's control. Over these last 2 days Asted further proved himself that he was worthy of staying within the syndicate. Sure, he hadn't been promoted as fast as he'd like to, but at least he can be his friend Rou's loyal soldier.
