As the day drew to a close, Rou headed back to his room and passed out on the bed right away. "Wow, seems I feel a little faint.", he thought as he lie there, unable to move. Looking to sleep anyway, he let the weakness set in, letting his body relax without a second thought as to why he fainted in the first place.
The next morning, the blue haired man was seemingly fully recovered, but his mind was disturbed, for his optimism from yesterday night was gone. From the door, a voice called out, "Rou, are you okay?", Violet was concerned. "Yes, I'm fine, other than being a tad stressed, why wouldn't I be?.", he replied. "You've been out for a while, it's almost noon!", she elaborated.
"Fuck, why the hell am I so disorganized?!", Rou growled to himself. "All I have to let you know is that Eve would like you in her office in an hour.", informed Violet. "I-I just need to get my head together...", muttered Rou. Though yesterday was a distraction, all the thoughts from the auction were flooding back to his head, and now this new issue was haunting him as well.
"I can't take any more of these thoughts! They bubble up in my mind and then leak into my life, making it desolate and not worth living...", ranted Rou. "I see, and is there anything I can do to help?", she asked. "Anything, to numb the pain, neutralise it if possible.", replied Rou solemnly. Violet looked at him with a concerned face, then looked away, "Eve may be able to help you...", she uttered, refusing to make eye contact.
"Is this part of your plan? To hand me over to your boss so you don't have to deal with me?!", shouted Rou, crashing his fist against the foot of his bed. Violet was fighting to remain facing away from him during the noise despite hearing the pain in her friend's voice, "Y-you said anything...so I gave you my input.", she mumbled. By this point she was terrified he'd lash out at her, one wrong move and she'd be frozen solid.
"You never wanted you to help me!", Rou shouted out instinctively, but immediately regretting afterwards. "Wait! I didn't mean that!", he shouted subsequently, holding his head in pain. However, his aggressive tone was heard across the door and Peter barged in, "What do you think you're doing to my fiance?!", he scowled, grabbing Violet in an attempt to protect her and intimidate Rou.
Rou looked on at the purple haired man, "Peter...I...I...". No matter what Rou was going to say, Peter knew what he had to do. "My office, now! Expect this to be the last time you see Violet...", he angrily declared. Violet turned to Peter, "I assure you, it's not what it looks like...", she cried. Peter grabbed her and held her by the waist, facing him, "You said that last week when you were staring at pictures of you and that bitch, don't try to hide things for other people's sake..."
Rou watched as the two argued, it was clear there was unresolved tension in thier relationship. But was bringing him into it a good idea? He didn't think so, but he could overlook the possibility that what ever awits him would ease the pain in his head. "Just take me...if it's best for your relationship...", cried Rou. Peter gave a slight grin, "That was the answer I was looking for, come with me. It seems we need to negotiate this with the boss..."
Instantly, Rou found himself having on only a single option, to follow Peter to Eve's office. His heart sunk as he was restrained to the chair once more, as if all his progress was down the drain and the traumatizing events at the auction were all he could think about. Violet couldn't even look at her fiance due to his fearlessness. After about 2 minutes of witnessing Peter scowling at him, Eve finally set foot into the room. "Seems there's been a disagreement...", she remarked with disappointment.
"Ma'am, you have to understand, Rou was messing with my relationship!", objected Peter. Eve raised her hand to keep the young man quiet. "You mustn't let your biases get in the way of this syndicate, Rene has notified me that he and his soldiers couldn't fend off those Okumura scum, I sent Leonardo out to defend against them as well, but we need a backup plan. As punishment for your behaviour this afternoon, I have no choice but to send Violet out next!"
"As you wish...", uttered Violet, "As long as I can fight in my way and not the violent way.", she added. Eve nodded as the woman with multicolored hair headed off. The boss then turned to Rou and Peter, "Now then, time to discuss something extremely important...", she announced, pouring her tea, "Refreshments are available to those who need it.", she added in her remark. Rou was nervous, and what he was about to find out could make or break him.
