Rou was preparing to leave the office as Aster and Edward rushed out. "I'm confused, one minute we're determining a man's fate, the next minute we're seeing to bizzare business." Edward had told him about this woman before, been away from the syndicate for 4 years, rather disheveled by the looks of it. So flustered to follow everyone else to the door, He trips over Craqq, who had moved his post to the top of the stairs, to observe the shenanigans downstairs. "Oh, sorry, hope I didn't interrupt your duty."
"Not at all, sir, so sorry, I didn't see you there. Merely investigating the commotion", the tiny man remarked.
"Shit. There were people here.", he thought. "I was too focused on the door. Mentally kicking myself, I scrambled to my feet, before regaining my posture and extending my hand.", his mind was all over the place, but he remained rational to appear competent to the leader of another regime. "Craaq. And you?"
"I'm Rou, so sorry about that, I was trying to get to the door. The soldiers in this place are hard to notice if they're not in your squad you see..." He tries to listen in to the conversation the others were having with Catoria, all the while hoping this soldier doesn't think he's rude. He glances at Aster from the top of the stairs, hopefully he's calmed down now all the attention is off him.
Aster continued to smirk at Fleur and Catoria's exchange from the bottom to the stairs as he and Edward make it to the entrance. "Yeah, I think it’s best for me to shut up at this moment, I don't want to accidentally cause my potential death for the third time today. Oh did you only just catch on to their conversation, maybe that’s a demi human thing. Or maybe you’re just slow at picking it up." Aster smiles devilishly trying to make an impression. "Hah! I see that got you! That’s great, who knew this intimidating looking person was so defensive, now I guess I should focus on this too."
Edward held his tongue at Aster's irritating remark and averted his attention to the newcomer. "Ahh Catoria. Thank You for... bringing her here after so long, Fleur."
Saluting, Craaq turned away from Rou, only to be bowled over by a woman towing a girl behind her. "Shit. Shit, I need to get out of here, sensory overload."
Craaq made himself scarce as quickly as possible.
Fleur shook her head furiously at Catoria "No, no! Stop! I do not wish for you to enter!, she argued, her eyes widening as she was suddenly in the very place she wished not to be. Her face lit up as Edward praised her "YOU ARE welcome sir!! I am SOOO happy to help!" she practically beamed in happiness before fiddling with her fingers nervously. "This woman seems like bad news.", she thought, staring Catoria in the eye.
"That poor little man! Seems he's having a bad day." Rou thought. He goes down the stairs and approaches Aster, the smirk on his face making question his judgement a little. "Is he here of ill intent?" He enquired. "Aster, are you planning something or is it just me?" Rou's left hand seemed to move to protect himself, ready to freeze at any time.
Aster looks directly at Rou "Hm? Oh me, nah I couldn’t plan anything even if I wanted to. I’m just a guy who messes with people for fun, so to put it simply, it’s just you. God why must all of you be so suspicious and judge me wrongly? It’s getting boring."
Rou apologised to Aster "Oh, sorry, I tend to get suspicious easily. Once I get to know you I'm sure I'll be fine with you. I mess with people occasionally, you could teach me your methods" Hopefully that softened the blow on his part , but he doesn't think Aster will trust him for a while, Edward definitely doesn't trust him...
Catoria lets go of Fleur’s hand and glances over everyone one by one, until stopping at Edward. She gives Edward a dirty look
“So is that how you greet everyone who steps foot into your mansion? How vile. Anyways, word got out that something human-like showed up not long ago so I came over to check it out. I’d advise you to check your met on who the rat is before a threat comes your way.”
Edward tries to level the situation. "I have this under control, thank you. But I suppose if this new arrival is of interest to you, I don't mind you staying here. You could help me decide on wether he is of use to us," Edward didn't do much to hide his annoyance, with Aster messing with everyone, plentiful new arrivals...
It wasn't quite the environment he worked best in.
