Meanwhile, Rou was alone, feeling nothing but shame. "Why can't I just get over myself and fight him?", he thought while he wandered aimlessly. "Maybe I do deserve to die? As if my soldiers need more corporeal punishment, they'd be better without me...". Edward managed to catch up to the boy and reached his hand out to him, but Rou blocked his affection with ice. "Rou, calm down, the situation is under control...", Edward remarks, trying to comfort the man. Rou scoffs, "I'm no use as a caporegime if I can't fight my worst fears...".
Edward's first thought was to hypnotise the boy, but slowly he realised it was his own fault. "Rou...I'm sorry...", he muttered, but he didn't know what else to say. Rou didn't take his message to heart, to him, not knowing of the appearance of Lin was a betrayal, he was crying hysterically, tears welling out of his green eyes uncontrollably, something Edward couldn't cope with, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THE ONLY WAY TO GET EQUALITY IS TO GO THROUGH HELL?!", yelled Rou.
"Rou, come back...", muttered Edward. Rou stared his boss in the eye with the look of someone betrayed by everything in his life and continues running. The blue haired man was plagued by a throbbing pain in his head that determined his every move, filling him with a guilt like no other. Eventually, Rou noticed no one was going after him any more and he finally stagnated in the very broom closet he sponsored Aster in at his peak of confidence. The front was gone, he thought. No one was going to forgive him for running away.
Meanwhile, the fight between syndicate and anti-crime group was still underway. The real problem the group had was their cooperation, they needed to get each enemy alone, and it didn't help that they were being underestimated. As Viper charged her attack, they were taken off guard by Kiara. "You crime syndicates never take responsibility!", declared the associate as she defended Curtis from the attack of Viper. The unbreakable bond of their opponents was clear to all fighting parties.
Kiara punched the witch in the chest, leaving a red mark. "Are physical attacks all you're good at?", Viper taunted as they tried to hold in the pain. "Why are you doing this, you idiot? You're at least a better person than that! Are you sure you monsters are good at anything other than violence?!", implored Curtis, throwing knives at Viper. "It's time to give these kids a lesson, Curtis!", shouted Lin in confidence. The red haired man readied both his hands for a blazing fire attack, the syndicate members prepared to defend.
"You're clearly just as smart as us, you know we don't have to resort to violence!" Aster said as he blocked Lin's fire attack. "No matter what, I'll always protect my ideals!", declared Lin. "You're scum and always will be!", he shouted at Aster and the others. Curtis gathered both hands behind his back and charged, bringing down Aster to the ground with swift force. Aster clenched his fist, lashing out to Curtis and pushing him back. "Can't you see that we're fighting for our friends?! Surely the three of you with your teamwork can see that!".
"Do you realize how pathetic you sound?!", shouted an angry Lin, who then rushed towards Curtis with his body absorbing a punch. "Do you think everyone else sees this run down organisation of yours as a good thing?!", scowled Lin, who ignited another fire attack and launched it at Aster. The black haired boy dodged the attack and took in the fire with his sword. "Fire Forme!", he called out. Aster signalled to Fleur to take down Curtis and Kiara while he dealt with Lin as his sword grew hotter and hotter. "This place may have its flaws, but it's all we have and I'm going to fight for it!".
Fleur was surprised to see how much of a competent swordsman Kiara was, it was rather overwhelming, but she needed to take action quickly to bring her down. "Fleur Feathering, correct? You're quite the fighter!", she remarked. Fleur turned to her opponent's face, staring her dead in the eye, and charged at her. Kiara didn't back down, the fire from Lin and Aster's fight not even flinching in her face. She was focused on taking on the elf girl, as well as Craaq, who was supporting her from behind with his crossbow.
Not fighting anyone in particular, Demitris was uneasy, with the trio of enemies blocking the door. True, the syndicate outnumbered them, but his mind was not prepared for a fight. He wanted to put off the conflict as long as possible, and still manage to find his way to Rou and clear the air with him. He put his hand to Curtis's arm and sent waves of destruction through it, but he was reluctant to hold on too long for fear of his emotion being out of control.
Curtis took it in stride as Demitris continued to give pathetic attacks, doing whatever they could to make a statement. "Hey Lin! Look at this guy, he's laughable! He obviously has a point to prove but no way to express it. Demitris's face turned red, not with embarrassment, but with pure rage. "You want stronger attacks?! I'll give you stronger attacks! But prepare to die almost immediately!".
Aster could see his friend was provoked, but couldn't do anything physical while fighting Lin, so instead he called out to Demitris and just hoped they would listen. "Demitris, you need to retreat! Your emotions are too intense, you'll bring the mansion down!", yelled Aster. "NEVER!!!", screamed Demitris. Viper could see things were getting out of hand as the formerly hooded boy made his move, "Watch out Demitris!" but her decision to interfere happened too late as Curtis shot the boy right in his left eye.
