The time had come, 4 men at a table, all ready to perform the initiation. Aster could feel his mouth go dry with anxiety. Another murder? Possibly! He didn't know how these organisations did things.
Sat across from him was Rou, his potential capo. A photo of Joan of Arc was on the table below him. Could this be a religious event? Surely not! Could it? Vox was beside Edward, lighting a candle. All these rituals confused Aster, but he played along anyway. What else could he do?
Rou made the first inquiry. "Aster Orocha, you've made it this far. We're going to ask you a few questions for good measure.". The room then fell silent, awaiting a response. "Just do what you need to do ice man, I wanna get out of here as soon as possible.", Rou just sighed as he asked the first question. "Let's say, hypothetically, you had a brother. Would you kill him for this organisation?".
It took a whole minute for him to answer, so long that Vox had even dozed off, eventually he replied. "This place is pretty much my only worth, so yes, I would. Next question?". Rou smiled at Aster's loyalty before carrying on. "Do you promise to remain completely secretive of you affiliation to the group outside of this mansion?", Rou said sternly.
"Of course, I won't say a word.", Aster answered. "Good, that's all of your questions. Now if you ever did need to indicate to an associate that you or anyone else was a made man, refer to them as 'a friend of ours', it goes for all members, no matter their rank.", Rou informed.
Edward then spoke up in order to continue the ceremony. "Aster, hand me your finger." The pale vampire took a pin and pricked Aster's finger. Rou passed him the photo of Joan of Arc, which Aster bled onto until his wound healed a few seconds later.
"Burn it", Edward demanded before Vox took the candle and sat the picture alight; Edward passed the burning card to Aster. "Aster, repeat after me." Edward spoke aloud a pledge, that Aster then repeated, perfectly and wholeheartedly.
"As this card burns, may my soul burn in hell if I betray the oath of silence. I live by this sword and this crossbow and die by them just the same." The photo had almost fully burned, Aster could feel his hand heating up. The pain wasn't unbearable, he'd faced worse in Tiliac, but it felt important to him, as a symbol of a new life beginning. His old world was gone.
"Congratulations young man, you are now one of us." Vox says before passing Aster his badge. "Frosty over here's a respectable capo. Disobey him and you're dead, understand?". "Yes sir!", Aster responded.
He looked up at the blue haired man beside him. "So you're my superior now, eh?". "I suppose I am, don't be intimidated by me in the field.", Rou said in a slightly condescending manner. "As if, we're pretty equally matched from what I remember.", Aster said cockily. The two laughed for a while before heading to thier rooms for a break. Aster was now a fully recognized member of the Okumura Syndicate.
