Chapter 16: Erupting Chaos

2 blocks from the battle, Shiva continued to get on Craaq's nerves. "I'll tell everyone your little secret if you don't join me in sabotage, trust me, it'll be fun. You don't want your cute little bunny ears drawing attention now do we?". Craaq wasn't a fan of things that weren't the status quo, nor was he out going, but he was an anthro bunny, built to defend against predators with a powerful jump. He was definitely capable of being chaotic if he wished.

"I'll go with you, please don't reveal my identity, it could be fatal for me if anyone finds out other than who needs to." Adjusting his helmet, Craaq readies himself for something he didn't intend to do today. However, more unexpected things kept happening, Shiva lifted him in the air, how very uncomfortable.

Before long, Shiva was darting towards where the fight was occurring, Craaq in his arms, up in the air. By now, Fleur, Aster, Ruby and the regime had noticed the two of them. "PUT, ME DOWN!!!", Craaq yelled as loud as he could. Fleur became overwhelmed, so many people were fighting, but no one knew what was going on.

Ruby laughed, "Was this your doing? Did you think a little interruption was going to end this, nonsense!". Aster's neck was getting tight, air could barely leave his lungs, but he wasn't afraid, he knew his next move. Kicking the short woman, he back flipped off of her, sure it left a slight injury on his neck, but he was barely phased. "Time to die!", shouted Aster, preparing his next forme.

Shiva put Craaq down, now what should he do next? Shiva used his illusion ability to create a double of Ruby from behind the bin. "Now that's great, since when were they two of you?", Aster was fed up of chaos on the battlefield, he wanted the fight over and done with as soon as possible so he could leave Fleur alone. Playing along, Ruby prepared another arrow. "Do you think you were fighting me just now or was I deceiving you? Go on! Find the original", both Ruby and her double stated.

"You really think I can fall for that? You've got another thing coming. Even if you weren't the original, I can simply take you both down at once. Stone forme!".
Aster's dagger was turned to stone now he knew exactly what to do. The black haired boy rushed behind her, slashing the double. He then leapt in the air capturing the real Ruby in a headlock.

"I'm sorry you had to die this way, you fought well.", Aster knelt down to thank his opponent before drawing his dagger. Ruby struggled in the headlock, she felt as if he was chokingher. Fleur also approached her, announcing what she saw to Aster. "This is the end, you can deal the final blow, jerk...", she said, slightly jealous of his accomplishment.

Aster looked on at the soldiers guarding the space they were fighting, they all seemed numb to death. His heart pounded as his dagger got closer to her neck before finally slitting her throat with ease. The regime remained silent for a whole minute after she died. Ruby Angelou was a powerful fighter, who fought as hard as she could, but she was a target and her life had to end. That how the syndicate worked, defeat your enemies and earn revenue from it.

Aster was both dull and accomplished, maybe that's how all syndicate members felt, he thought. Or possibly the first killing is the hardest? Either way it was a strange day for him. Fleur escorted him back to their carriage (after restraining Shiva of course).

"Aster, you're...a good combatant." Fleur blurted out without thinking. Aster didn't pay attention, all he could do was stare out the window, waiting for the day to end. Craaq was a little shaken up from his encounter with Shiva, but he was okay.

The day had ended by the time they reached the mansion again, and Rou greeted them with a meal. "So you did it? That's great Aster! I'm looking forward to working with you, but there's one more thing you need to do before joining my squad, follow me.", Rou declared as he welcomed them back. Aster took his word and followed him to a back room of the mansion. "So Rou, what's next?", the two males looked at each other with anticipation.

"The induction ceremony.", said Rou, blankly. "Apparently it's to make sure you swear the oath of silence or whatever the families call it nowadays.". Aster was ready for anything, if his first task was downright murder, how hard could a ceremony be. I guess he just has to wait until tomorrow.
