Aster ran down the halls of the mansion once more, he had to tell Edward of Fleur's discomfort. But why do this? After all, she barely did anything in return. Was it for his own selfish desires? He couldn't be sure. Rushing up the stairs to the second floor, the boy tirelessly ascended the mansion to the very top floor, Edward and Vox's quarters.

The floor was neat and tidy, the room seemingly untouched by the boss's violent emotions. Aster fidgeted anxiously while scouring the room, with Edward and Vox nowhere in sight, it was the perfect opportunity to uncover things, but the possibility of consequences weighed on him. He had to be fast or his place in the syndicate would be at stake.

In a rush to find answers, the black haired boy headed over to the bedside and tried to determine whose side of the bed belonged to Edward. Upon analysing the bedroom, he could see two cabinets, one of a dark mahogany and one of a light birch. "The guy's gloomy as hell, so it has to be the mahogany, right?", thought Aster as he approached the container.

Aster gave the cabinet closer inspection, engraved upon the wood were intricate designs or people so beautiful, they could be Gods. Maybe the answer as to why he always dismissed people was related to these drawings? He couldn't be sure. Aster opened it up, luckily it didn't have a lock. "Seems like Edward's been taking a lot of notes.", he thought when what was inside was revealed, all he could see were around 20 pages of writing.

The temptation to read the notes was gripping, and his respect for Edward certainly wasn't great. However, the shimmer of loyalty he did have was very much needed in order to live, so he refused to read more than his earliest work. He read the writing swifty, he shouldn't be in here longer than necessary, "A brief guide to the mansion spell room", the page read.

After reading more of the paper, it seemed boring, just a guide to all the potions in Viper's room. Aster wasn't at all interested in spells, so he put it back, but as he did so, the rest of the papers fell out. "Shit, I need to tidy these up, I won't look, I promise.", Aster thought as they came falling down. He covered his eyes slightly and picked them up one by one, only glancing at the page numbers so as to not seem suspicious.

Eventually, he had tidied all 20 documents, but as he was placing them back into the mahogany cabinet, a rattling sound was made at the bottom. He investigated, picking the papers up and placing them back down again. Before he had touched the bottom of the container, he was sure it was a thick layer of wood, but to his discovery, there was a hidden bottom.

The guilt was starting to get to Aster, he knew that any sort of item hidden there must be top secret, and his anxiety only got worse as he heard footsteps heading into the bathroom next door. He was quiet as a mouse as he lifted the bottom of the cabinet, to reveal a dark gray book, but what the cover read would shock him to the core.

He looked again, to ensure he wasn't hallucinating, but the words were clear as day. "Study of the Tiliac clan.", with the emblem of his former organisation. "Why is this here?! What the hell?!", he thought. A single tear came to his eye as his mind juggled his ever vexing feelings, "Don't tell me that bastard intended for me to go through this hell?! I bet he did, I bet he wanted to torture me. Could he even have contact with the higher ups back home?! What kind of future technology could do that?!".

Aster quickly dropped the book back into the cabinet in denial and put everything away before running out of the bedroom in fear as quietly as he could. Suddenly, the door to the bathroom for high ranking members opened, but Aster couldn't care less about anything but what the hell happened just now. The person who was inside walked out and noticed Aster, whom after holding back for a while, was now blubbering with tears. His heart was beating with overwhelming emotion, he needed help. No matter who it was, if it wasn't Edward, he had to tell them what he saw.
