Henry the 8th died presumably of a heart attack. His body was put in a specially made lead-lined coffin at a church. It is said his body, for some reason or another, exploded after it was lowered into his coffin. According to some allegedly real eye-witnesses, the explosion actually caused small bits of the king to leak onto the floor in which the coffin was being stored. A group of stray dogs reportedly ate the bits, as no one had bothered cleaning it.

This story could be fabricated. As it was costume to spread propaganda of well-hated royalty. A similar story is about how William the Conqueror also exploded. His burial date kept being delayed from interventions by events such as one where the city was on fire by a man who claimed that the church was unjustifiably built on his land. At the time William's intestines were inflating because of a science mumbo jumbo. When his body was finally able to be buried they found the hole was too small and so they tried to squeeze him into it and so he exploded. On the upside, he was able to fit into it afterward.
