If you look on the periodic table there's isn't a single "J". The letter "Q" isn't on the periodic table, for official elements anyway. In some countries (e.g., Norway, Poland, Sweden, Serbia, Croatia), the element iodine is known by the name jod. However, the periodic table still uses "I" for the element so it doesn't really count. There was rumors of the newly discovered element 113, in 2017, could've a permanent name starting with a "J" and element symbol "J". Element 113 was discovered by the RIKEN collaboration team in Japan. However, the researchers went with the element name nihonium, based on the Japanese name for their country, Nihon koku, leaving us, yet again without an element with a "J".
