In 2012 Biologists stumbled upon a new species of ant in New York. It was nicknamed the "ManhattAnt." Rob Dunn stumbled upon the ManhattAnt by accident during breaks from teaching classes at Columbia University. His lab further investigated the ant and found that the ManhattAnt had a higher concentration of carbon in their bodies, likely indicative of a high corn-syrup diet.
