Today is the day that you are going to bury your sister, Sarah Cameron. Well, bury... it's an empty casket that is lowered into the ground. The police have been looking for Sarah and John B for a month now, but they didn't find anything. Your sister, who was your best friend, is gone. And the fact that your dad is acting like he had nothing to do with it just makes you sick. You haven't been home that much. Most of the time you spend with the Pogues. The truth is, you are afraid to be in your own house. Your dad could lose his shit anytime, and who knows what he would do. The same goes for Rafe. It's like he lost his mind. You just don't see the fun brother you had growing up.

You're now sitting on the porch of the chateau, smoking one last joint before going to the funeral.

'I wish you guys could come,' you mumbled. You were already in your black dress. Kiara had done your hair just to make you relax a little bit.

'It's for the better I'm not there. I would kill that son of a bitch,' JJ mumbled.

'Are you sure you should be smoking right now? Don't you want t-.'

'No, I don't want to keep the signal clear, Pope,' you interrupted him. 'I have to hang out with my murderer of a father, my crazy brother and a whole bunch of people who don't care. I'm afraid that if I say the wrong thing, I'm going to be next.' You took another hit of the joint. 'Maybe it's for the best, me being next. I wouldn't have to live in fear. I wouldn't have to look over my shoulder every time I walk around the island. The sadness would be gone.'

JJ took the joint of your hand. 'You've had enough.'

'All because I'm saying it might be a good thing for me to be dead? Think about it, JJ. It would be the perfect thing for my dad. Another thing for Ward Cameron not to think about. Maybe Rafe would do it. He killed the sheriff. It's not a surprise if he kills again.'

'Y/N stop. I know it's your family-.'

'You don't know shit about my family, Kie. They are murderers. They killed people, actual human beings who died by their doing. Do you know why I haven't been home? Because I'm afraid that I'm next. What if I say the wrong thing? My dad is going to push me off the stairs and say that I fell. Maybe he's going to poison my drinks or smother me with a pillow in my sleep. Maybe Rafe gets so fucked up on coke that he does it. He becomes daddy's little puppy and does everything he's told. God, maybe Rose is even in on this. Or Weezie, nobody would see that coming. Little Weezie who killed her sister by accident. My family is like... I just... I-I... I am next....' You bury your face in your hands while the tears make their way down your cheeks.

'You're not going to be next,' Pope slowly says.

You look up at him. 'How do you know? My dad killed John B's dad, he killed Scooter, and he probably killed those two mainlanders. Rafe killed Sheriff Peterkin. Because of Rafe, Sarah and John B are dead.'

'I can come with you if you want? I mean, Sarah was my friend too. And they might accept me there,' Kiara said.

You looked at her. 'You'd really do that?'

'Of course. We stop by my house first before going to the funeral, okay?'

You nodded.

Everybody was already at the funeral. As soon as you stepped out of the car, you saw Rafe looking at the two of you with disgust. Kiara grabbed your hand, and the two of you made your way to your family.

'There you are,' your dad sighed in relief. He embraced you, Kiara, not letting go of your hand.

'I'm sorry I'm late. Kiara wanted to say goodbye to Sarah as well, so she picked me up a little late. I'm sorry.'

'It's okay, you're here.' It gave you the chills at how calm and friendly he was being.

You took place next to Rafe.

'I hope those Pogues of you don't show up here,' he whispered in your ear just as the ceremony started.

'You're going to kill them too?'

Rafe didn't answer. He looked straight ahead, not saying a word.

A few people from school walked over to the stage to say some things about Sarah. Your dad went as last.

'Sarah, my sweet little girl... She has been taken from us way too soon. She had so many great plans for the future. She was going to be a doctor. My little girl was going to be a doctor. Now she flies high in the sky, looking down on us and protecting us all. We're all going to miss you, Sarah.' Your dad wiped away a tear from his eyes and walked back to the family.

The rest of the funeral went by in a haze. Before you knew it, the casket was in the ground, and the funeral was over.

'Are you coming home?' Rose asked you.

You shook your head. 'They're having a memorial for John B. My friends need me there.'

'Are you sure, hun? It has been a long day already. Your dad would love to have you home tonight.' Rose put a string of hair behind your ear.

'I can't. I'm sorry.' You walked away, hurried to Kiara her car. As soon as you shut the door, you saw your dad walking over to you. 'Drive, Kie. Drive!'

Kiara quickly drove away, leaving your dad behind.

'God, they freak me out,' Kiara said. 'They were all so nice; it's disgusting.'

'Tell me about it,' you sighed.

Back at the chateau, JJ handed you a beer as soon as you stepped up on the porch.

'How was it?' Pope asked.

'Like a freak show. Ward was nice, saying nice things about Sarah, even wiping away a tear. Probably fake, but still,' Kiara told the boys.

You said on one of the couches and stared in front of you.

'You look like hell,' JJ noticed.

'I feel like hell. I can't believe they're gone....'

'Yeah, I know the feeling,' he mumbled for taking a sip of his own beer.
