Jungkook nodded his head and glanced down at her right hand before looking up into her eyes.
"You should let go of this now."he advised gently, mentioning for the shard of glass tightly pressed in between her fingers.
"I hate it."she suddenly articulated staring at him intently.
"I hate it so much."she repeated when his eyes met hers. "There's nothing I can do about it. The only thing I know is that I'm a bad person, I've made bad choices and I've done terrible things. I don't have to remember to know it."
"Doesn't mean you have to hurt yourself."he replied calmly.
"I have so many scars which make no sense to me since I don't recall how I got them. At least I'll be able to look at this one and remember why it's there."
"Then why is it there? Just for the memory?"
"So I can be sure where the pain comes from."
"That's fucked up."Jungkook murmured and she brought her face a little closer, searching his eyes thoroughly.
"Aren't we all?"she replied almost softly and this time he frowned slightly before looking away while she leaned her back against the wall, eyes still on him and her left hand still holding his.
"How did we meet anyway?"she asked curiously.
"...Back in London you were running away from som people and you ran into me..."he cleared his throat, leaving out the part where she kissed him out of the blue, and added:
"You had been stabbed already but you refused my help and vanished in the city. However I found you and called 911, they came and brought you to that hospital. ... And you know the rest."
A pregnant silence hung over the two young people sat on the floor.
"That's it?"she quirked an eyebrow.
"Yeah. I'm sor-"
"You left out a whole flock of details that's for sure. I guess that'll have to do for now."she sighed.
"I'm sorry I don't know more about your past and why those people were chasing you, but I hope you can be safe here for the time being."
Her eyes gazed at him, taking in his handsome features. She couldn't help but go back to his eyes which struck her everytime she looked at them.
