"Then why?? What am I??! I'm nothing come on admit it, and I don't even WANT to be anything to you or your other friends. You should've left me to die back in London!"she reproached angrily pointing a finger at him.
"I mean what does it matter if I suddenly jump from that building right now??!"she pushed herself to the edge only to have Jungkook immediately pull her back, keeping a firm grip on her arms.
"Don't. play. with your life. like that" he growled furious.
"Why not?!"she defied him "what does it matter to you if I do? We're strangers you and I."
Jungkook glared at her furiously, tightening his grip.
"It matters because I fucking care about you okay?!"
She frowned and muttered "so you just felt sorry and tried to-"
"Why can't you just accept the fact that maybe I am HUMAN, and I may have started to care about you after seeing you chased down by those guys and on the verge of dying, and looking at me with those eyes like- like-..."
"Like what?"she murmured.
"...like I was your only hope."he trailed off.
"You were all alone, the world rejected you and you were desperate to fight your way through anyway, because you needed to finish whatever brought you there in the first place, ..... and because you were scared."he finished in a murmur.
"That's what I read in your eyes that night I found you in that London street, right about to pass away."
He had her full attention now, her expression changed from the usual emotionless mask she put on all the time.
"I don't understand."was all she said. "How-"
"Why do you ask so many questions? I mean can't you just wait for things to come back to you instead of provoking everyone around you to have them spit out everything they might possibly know??"
"Because I know I can do this."she fiercely replied. "And I will."
Jungkook sent her a look of incomprehension. The complexity of the situation was setting him on edge. He was used to just following the schedule and making his own way through life, enjoying a good challenge from time to time, but he had his goals, his dreams he tried to achieve.
However he knew that sometimes, time could mend. Constant provocation hardly ever helped and often ended up with frustration and deceit.
Yet there she was in front of him, standing tall, her eyes filled with fiery words as she stubbornly refused to sit back and let it come to her. Her behavior was one of steadfast denial.
