Jungkook hummed dismissively, turning away and grumbled. "Don't you have things to do? Heard you were pretty busy these days. Didn't think we were part of the picture anymore."he sent her a pointed look from which she averted her gaze, clenching her jaw.
Silence hung over the two, while Jungkook picked his bottle and greedily chucked it down. The music still played in the background, and made it hard for them to have a normal conversation. Screwing the bottle shut, the young singer sighed and set it back down on the floor before moving to turn off the music and return to his previous spot. Yuri stepped forward, trying to explain herself.
"You WERE part of the picture I just- look the last time we talked it went the wrong way and I don't want us to stay on such terms s-"
"Why?"he asked briefly, spinning around to look at her with narrowed eyes and she blinked a few times, taking in his question. Her look softened and she let her arms drop to her sides as the walls she had built vanished for a moment and he noted the genuineness in her eyes.
"I'm sorry."she breathed out and he flinched at the soft words coming out of her mouth.
The young man swallowed as his gaze set on her frame, and he took the time to process the genuine tone in her voice, her features displaying a clear expression he could actually read entirely, and her eyes. Her hazel eyes were no longer tainted with a veil of mystery and defiance. They were sorry and pleading.
"Jungkook, I'm sorry for saying these things to you the other day, I'm sorry for pushing you away all the time when you've been nothing but kind to me. I want to make it up to you a-"
"What because you feel like you owe me?"he cut off carefully, colder than he had intended, eyes still weary and she shut her lips in a thin line, choosing her words with care. Jungkook waited expectantly, his eyes scanning her expression, trying to keep up with the emotions she could show.
"I do owe you a lot, and I wish to pay you back one day-"
Jungkook cut her off with a sigh, looking away with a clenched jaw. "You know what save it, Yuri, if you're trying to pay back that debt you keep saying you have for whatever y-"
"It's because you ARE important to me!"she exclaimed suddenly. Standing very still for a few seconds, Jungkook inhaled, processing the sudden words as his eyes snapped to meet hers. He tilted his head in silence, reading her expression.
"I'm being honest, Jungkook and these last few days have made me realize that I'm not just staying here because I'm looking for answers. I'm staying because I don't want to leave."she stated truthfully.
