Yuri's hand instantly reached for his, heart breaking at the sight of tears running down his precious face.

"No.. "she whispered, wiping them with her thumb, unable to hold back her own tears at the tragic story and the pain in his eyes.

"It's all my fault."he murmured through the tears, meeting her eyes. "If I hadn't insisted so much they'd still be there-"

Yuri shook her head, gently pulling him to her, and holding him against her chest while he buried his face in her shirt, desperately trying to hold back the lump of sobs in the back of his throat.

"No, you can't do this."She said, hands stroking his hair.

"You can't blame yourself that way, and you don't know what could have happened either way. Had you gotten off the bus, maybe something else would have happened and you would still blame yourself this time for listening to him.

You're in pain, but you had no control over these events. You were a normal teenager and you wanted to have fun. Nothing wrong with that. You couldn't have known that some lunatics would start attacking the bus. You simply couldn't."she kept going, sniffling as tears rolled down her face.

"It was their time, Kook, it was simply their time.."she added quietly and the young man tensed at her words, finding it harder and harder to hold it in.

Yuri sighed, wanting to do anything to stop his suffering and truly comfort him but she knew he just needed to be listened to, to cry and let it all out. So she kissed the top of his head and kept her lips close to his ear, wanting him to hear her closely.

"You're so brave, Jungkookie, you're so so brave and Hyun and Lee would be so proud of all the things you've achieved. You stayed alive. And it takes time to heal but you're doing it. I'm so so proud of you.

But you have to let it out.
It's just you and me. Just Yuri with her precious person. I've got you, you just cry all you want. You're not alone. You're never alone."

Like a dam breaking down, tears flowed from his eyes endlessly as sobs racked his body completely huddled together against her.

He cried and cried, letting out all the pain, the guilt and the suffering he had endured all this time on his own. All the 'if only", and the somber thoughts that had gone through his mind, held back by the promise he made that day, to stay alive.
