"Over here, there's still some paint left."the man pointed at the spot down the wall while the other rolled the brush right above, hiding the marks.

Four hours in, and Jungkook's room looked as good as new, emphasis on the 'looked'.

Yuri heaved a breath as her eyes stared at the last bit of the words that had been spread there the other night.

Threats weren't exactly scary to her. But she'd come to realize that the ones targeting her loved ones actually triggered heavy emotions inside her heart. Fear. Rage. Protectiveness.

She'd waited too long, they all had. After the incident a few months back, life had taken a different meaning, displaying the reality of its shortness.

However, the young girl had easily recognized that it would be even shorter if they waited longer. Her mother would strike while they remained unprepared.

The workman painted over the last bit of marks on the wall and Yuri looked down at the picture in her hand.

She'd spent some time in Jungkook's room before the worker could do something about the mess.

The pictures were clear. It wasn't just a threat from her mother. It was an ultimatum.

The little girl in the picture stared back with a big smile as the man's arms kept her safely up against his chest.

She remembered the day that picture was taken. She was five, and her father had taken her to an amusement park for kids. One of her most cherished memories with her father. The red cross hiding her dad's face made it clear regarding her mother's intentions...

Yuri's eyes went back to the wall.

War. Raven, her mother never knew when to stop or give up. Her principles made failure a forbidden word in her vocabulary and mindset.

Her fingers closed on the picture, crumpling it in her tight fist.

"It'll be you or me this time, mother."she muttered darkly.

Seokjin halted in his steps when he spotted Yuri standing by the door to Jungkook's bedroom, her fists tight and her eyes glaring.

He remained behind the corner, wondering what exactly was going on inside her head. He could only guess.
