Chapter 4: Atleast He Has A Cool Mom

Hey guys, new chapter! Enjoy x.

I sat myself on a plastic chair, waiting for the announcement to board the plane. The flight itself was going to be a long and undoubtedly tiring one. But as much as I hate how cramped my legs were going to be from the hours of sitting, I still loved long flights.

I usually ate everything they gave and would ask for nuts and whatnot depending on what the airline provided. Also, I hardly slept on long flights, a few hours at most would be dedicated to sleep. Other than that, the rest of the time would be spent watching the whole array of movies, shows, concerts and playing games on the entertainment system.

For the trip to London, we would first be taking a flight from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, which is our current location, to JFK International Airport in New York City and that flight took around three and a half hours. Then we had to wait at JFK for about two hours before getting a flight to London Heathrow Airport which was a ten hour flight.

We were lucky to get a connecting flight with such little waiting time in between because, from what I know, the usual waiting time for such a journey was about eleven hours or so.

My phone vibrated in my hand, snapping me out of my thoughts on the flight ahead of me. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my precious device. I treated my phone like it was my baby. I'm not even kidding. I made sure it had no scratches, no marks on the cover, had a clean screen, and never gets insulted by anyone.

It's a cheap phone, I'll give it that but it's a fantastic phone.

Insult me but never insult my phone. That's what I tell anyone who dares to insult my phone.

Yeah, I'm weird like that. Sue me.

Anyway, I checked the screen and saw that it was Nash who was calling. I grinned, he was basically my best friend, along with Lisa. I've known them both for close to eight years now and we were an inseparable trio. I told them about the trip weeks ago and they knew how excited I was for it and promised to call me before I left for JFK.

"How's my favourite guy doing?" I asked with humour filling my voice.

"Terrible without you! Lisa ate my cookies. My cookies. They were freaking chocolate chip. She can't just do that." I could hear the exasperation in his voice. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic behaviour but couldn't help the grin that was plastered on my face. Gosh I've not left the state and I miss them already.

"Okay drama queen, the world is not gonna end. And it's chocolate chip bruh, even I would've stolen it from you."

"Why do I even hang out with you girls?" I heard a heavy sigh escape his lips.

"Hmm let me see, because one, you love us and two, who doesn't want to hang out with me." I flipped my hair over my shoulder in a sassy manner although he couldn't see me.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. Hey, how are the strangers on the flight by the way? You said there were two right?"

"Oh don't even get me started. Ron's friend has been pretty irritating so far-"

My eyes searched for Shane as I talked about him. I spotted Veronica talking to him and occasionally touching his arm and he himself was giving her the award winning smile that he must have perfected to get girls like Veronica. I mentally scoffed and cringed internally at the sight before me.
