Chapter 11: I'll Just Auction It
New chapter! Enjoy x.
The journey to Madame Tussauds was pretty uneventful except for the fact that I was practically in amazement at everything around me. From the people to the architecture and even down to the shops that we passed, I was trying to soak everything in.
Once at Madame Tussauds, Aunt Lila settled the payment to enter and I was relieved that the queue outside the place was pretty short. The place looked like some sort of magnificent jade dome from the outside and I was practically bouncing on my heels as we entered it.
We took a lift up to the starting area. Flashes and cheers were the first thing I heard when the doors to the lift opened. Confused, I looked around and realized there were fake photographers put up with flashing lights and there was a recording of people cheering playing over the speakers. I smiled at the quirkiness of the place that already had me loving it.
The room that we headed towards was dimly lit and from what I could see, it was filled with people. I took in everything around me as I stepped into the room. Ahead of me, I found wax figures of Bollywood stars that I recognized thanks to my mom’s addiction to Bollywood. Towards my left, I could catch glimpses of stars like David and Victoria Beckham, the male stars of Twilight whom I don’t have to spell out, Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and so many more. I think I would be fangirling every second of this tour, if that was even possible!
We agreed to travel as a group together so that we wouldn’t get lost in the crowd. I found all the moms heading towards the Bollywood section. I smiled and followed after them, knowing that my mom probably was the one who was leading us all there.
I had control of the camera during this entire trip because I’d rather be taking the pictures than be in them. It just felt weird smiling at the lens for a few seconds while others who weren’t in the picture were just looking at you. Yup, definitely not my cup of tea. But Ron wouldn’t have any of it although he knew how much I disliked posing for a photo.
I took photographs for my mother and the moms and was even happy to take for Veronica. I guess taking pictures just puts me into a good mood. Occasionally, Ron would make me stand beside a figure and take a picture. But he knew which ones I really loved and told me that he would help me take a picture with them and I smiled gratefully at him in return.
I noticed that Shane too had a camera with him and he was busy taking pictures of the moms too, especially his own. Ha, I guess we had similar responsibilities, I thought.
I was staring at the wax figure of Johnny Depp and was probably smiling like a Cheshire cat. I heard a camera click beside me. My head snapped to the sound. I found Shane taking a picture of me and I wasted no time in glaring at him.
“What the hell? Delete that. Now! I probably had on a stupid smile that made me look crazy.”
He looked back down at the picture in his camera and then up to me with a softer look on his eyes but a playful smirk on his lips.
“Nah, I don’t think so, sweetheart.”
I tried reaching for the camera but he only held it higher. I knew my 5’3” height couldn’t beat his nearly 6’ height so I gave up pretty quickly but settled on giving him a final glare.
I felt Ron’s hand on my lower back as he ushered me towards the Johnny Depp figure and told me to smile into the camera. I noticed that Shane was again taking a picture of me with the amazing Captain Sparrow. There was a crease in between his brows that showed he was actually trying to take the best picture that he could. And for once, I wasn’t mad at him for taking my picture.
