JENNIE POV.

I was awoken by the sun's rays streaming through the window, landing right on my face. As I stirred in my bed, a sudden pang of pain in my thigh reminded me of the previous night's events. I felt exhausted. I shut my eyes, trying to make sense of it all.

Rapidly, I pulled the blanket around my body and realized that I was entirely naked. Panic surged through me as I scanned my room, but there was no sign of Lisa. I desperately hoped it was all just a dream.

"Oh my god," I gasped, hope fading as I struggled to smother the horrific thought, "What have I done? How do I face her now?"

My phone suddenly rang, and I saw it was Jisoo calling.

"Hey, where are you? I'm here in your office, but you're not here!"

I held the phone away from my ear as Jisoo shouted like a grandma.

"Yeah, yeah, no need to yell at me. I just woke up late. I was working late into the night," I explained, looking at the clock with widened eyes. It was already 10:16 AM. Oh my god, that's why Jisoo called.

"Okay, Chu, I'll be there in 30 minutes."

I didn't wait for her response and quickly ended the call, rushing to the bathroom.

"Good morning, Ms. Kim. Ms. Jisoo Kim is waiting for you inside your office," my secretary informed me. I thanked her and requested two cups of coffee.

I entered my office and immediately began organizing my desk, not paying much attention to Jisoo who was engrossed in a magazine.

"Wow! You're like a sneaky cat, you know. You didn't even notice me, Ruby Jane?" she teased, her hand on her hip.

"What are you doing here?" I replied, slightly irritated.

"So, it's forbidden to pay you a visit in your own office?" She put her hand on my desk, trying to look innocent.

"What's the reason for your visit?"

"Nothing... I just wanted to know, how was your night?"

I paused, glancing at her with a furrowed brow. "Did you seriously come here just to ask such a nonsensical question?"

She snickered, "Whoa, calm down. Why do you seem disgruntled? I'm just asking."

"You know what. You'd better head back to your office because I still have a lot of work to do here."

"I thought you finished all that last night? Or maybe you did something special last night."

I rolled my eyes, choosing to ignore her. I knew she was just teasing me.

"I saw Lisa Manoban coming out of your house this morning. Don't lie to me. What was she doing there? Are you two... don't tell me—"

"Jisoo!" I interrupted, glancing at the door. "Watch your mouth. Someone might hear you, you idiot.” This woman is driving me nuts.

"So, what happened?" She asked suspiciously.

"Nothing, I just helped her."

"No way... I don't believe you. If you don't tell me the truth, I'll walk out of here and forget that we're cousins."

I rolled my eyes at her. She knew me well enough to understand that she wouldn't stop until she got an answer.

Jisoo locked eyes with me, looking more serious than I thought, her eyebrows arched in waiting silence. I feel the weight of her scrutiny as I struggle to find the words to confess the unimaginable.

I took a deep breath, my mind racing with the memories of the previous night. The words stuttered out of me like a reluctant apology. "I..I.. just wanted to help her. And.. I didn’t realized she was drunk.. We talked for a while, and...and things got out of hand."

Jisoo's eyebrows shot up in disbelief, her voice tinged with a mix of shock and accusation. . "H... hold on.. H... How could you?! Have you lost your mind, Jennie?! You just... you got intimate with someone you barely know?”

Jennie winced at the sharpness of Jisoo's tone, knowing she deserved her cousin’s anger. Her own guilt and shame intensified as she realized the gravity of her actions.

"I know it was stupid, Jisoo," Jennie said, her voice barely audible. "I don't know what came over me. I was caught up in the moment, and I made a mistake."

Jisoo's expression softened slightly, but the disappointment still lingered in her eyes. "Jennie, I can't believe you would be so reckless and irresponsible," she said, her voice a mixture of hurt and frustration.

Jennie's shoulders slumped as she struggled to find the right words to respond. "I'm sorry, Jisoo. I truly am, and I understand if you're upset with me."

Jisoo's gaze softened, her voice gentle now. "Jennie, you don't have to apologize. I reacted that way because I care about you, like a sister. I just want to make sure you're not getting hurt." She paused, her expression warm. "But maybe you should get to know her first."

Jennie felt a wave of relief wash over her at Jisoo's understanding and support.

Gratitude swelling in her heart, she couldn't help but pull Jisoo into a sisterly hug. "Thank you, chu," Jennie mumbled, feeling the comfort of their bond.

Jisoo nodded and smiled, teasingly adding, "So, are you open to dating her?"

Hearing this, Jennie playfully nudged Jisoo, their laughter echoing off the walls, infusing the room with warmth and camaraderie. "Let's not get carried away now," she replied and smiled, reflecting the playful banter between them.

After Jisoo departed, Jennie found herself reflecting on their conversation, a sense of gratitude swelling within her for Jisoo's unwavering support. With a contented sigh, Jennie leaned back in her chair, feeling a sense of peace wash over her.

Turning her attention to the bustling cityscape outside her window, Jennie felt a sense of awe at the vibrant energy of Seoul. The towering skyscrapers and bustling streets served as a reminder of the endless possibilities that lay beyond her office walls.

Just as she was lost in contemplation, a sudden knock on the door broke the silence, pulling her back to the present moment.

"Come in," Jennie called out, her curiosity piqued by the unexpected interruption.

"Ms. Kim, you have a delivery," her secretary announced, breaking the news of the unexpected arrival.

"Alright, just leave it there," Jennie instructed, her interest piqued by the mysterious package.

As she approached her desk, Jennie's eyes landed on a bouquet of flower with a notes, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Hyacinths," she whispered, her heart skipping a beat as she read Lisa's tender words, feeling as though every syllable had been written just for her. A warmth spread through her chest, mingling with the fluttering butterflies in her stomach.

With trembling hands, she lifted the fragrant hyacinth to her nose, inhaling deeply and letting its sweet aroma envelop her senses. It was as if Lisa's presence lingered in every petal, a tangible reminder of their last night connection.

As she pondered how Lisa had known her favorite flower, Jennie couldn't help but smile at the gesture that filled her with warmth, leaving her eagerly anticipating their next meeting.
