Jennie and V arrived at the restaurant, and as they walked in, Jennie couldn't help but admire the chic and stylish interior.
"Why did you bring me to this fancy place, V? We could have had your homecoming celebration at any other restaurant. This place looks quite expensive."
"Come on, Jennie. I thought you'd be excited to be here, but you're as thrifty as you were in high school. Don't worry, the bill is on me," V teased with a mischievous grin.
"Well, if you insist," Jennie replied with a smile.
The receptionist welcomed them, "Welcome to Topcore restaurant, sir. Do you have a reservation?"
"Yes, we have a table for two reserved under the name V Tae-hyung."
The receptionist quickly checked the reservation list before leading them to their table, a secluded corner booth bathed in soft candlelight.
Once seated, a waiter approached to take their order. V wasted no time in placing their selections. "We'll have two virgin mojitos and the chef's special for our main course, please."
The waiter nodded and jotted down their order before disappearing into the bustling kitchen.
As they waited for their meal, V leaned in with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "So Ms. Kim, it would be great if you could go on a date with me."
Jennie playfully rolled her eyes, "Oh, please V. I know your mischief beneath the innocent card that you are portraying to impress me." Jennie never missed an opportunity to poke fun at him.
"Yes, you're right. I was crazy in love with you, that I didn't realize that I had become blind to the truth."
Jennie was taken aback, her heart pounding with a mixture of surprise and realization. She locked eyes with V, understanding the depth of what he wanted to convey.
As the silence stretched between them, Jennie struggled to find the right words to respond. Her thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions, her heart torn between the guilt of her past actions, leaving her momentarily speechless.
FLASHBACK
V was extremely delighted and screamed with joy, "Hey, Jennie, guess what happened! Just guess!!"
Jennie could read the reason for his happiness just by glancing at his face, "You signed a brand model contract? Right?"
"Yes... You can never imagine Jennie, how happy I am today."
Out of joy, he lifted Jennie in his arms and twirled her around. Later, he put her down for a while and confessed, "I wanted to tell you something. Let's celebrate the occasion. Let me call Jiyong and make the arrangements for the evening."
As he was about to take out his phone to make a call, a voice from behind intervened in between, "You need not call Jiyong, he is right here, my dear friend."
Jiyong hugged him, "Congratulation man, you have done it. You have turned your dream into reality. I am super proud of you."
"Thanks, bro. I was telling Jennie to have a party tonight. Let's celebrate my success."
"Oh yeah, we should celebrate. Tell me where you want to celebrate."
"You guys plan the celebration, I'll go and get some snacks and drinks for you." Having said this, Jennie went into the kitchen.
As soon as Jennie walked away from the living room, V came closer to Jiyong and uttered, "Dude, I want this celebration to be special. I am planning to propose to her. I have always thought that the day I would consider myself successful, I will propose to her. And I think today is the day."
