JISOO POV.
I’m seething with anger right now, barely able to contain it. Lisa made fools of us all, and she's lucky Jennie was with me, or I might have done something I'd regret.
"Calm down, Jisoo. Don’t take the law into your own hands," I heard Irene say.
We're at my house. I didn't let Jennie go home, knowing Lisa might be there. Jennie will stay here until she feels better. I won't let Lisa come near her.
I glanced at Jennie and saw the immense pain in her eyes. She’s suffering from a betrayal she didn’t deserve. Wendy was trying to comfort her, but she hadn’t stopped crying or spoken a word since we arrived. It breaks my heart to see her like this, and I can't believe Lisa could cause so much pain.
Jennie had known all along that Lisa was married, but she didn't tell us. It makes sense now why she always changed the topic whenever we asked if she and Lisa had plans to get married. Damn it, Lisa!
Suddenly, Jennie's phone rang. We looked at it on the table—Lisa was calling. I quickly picked up the phone and turned it off.
"No one is answering Lisa's calls," I said firmly.
"I think she's worried about Jennie. Maybe we should tell her Jennie is with us, so she doesn't worry," Wendy suggested.
I glared at Wendy. "Did you hear what you're saying, Wendy? Have you forgotten what Lisa did to us? Let her go crazy worrying about Jennie."
Irene's phone rang next. She picked it up, looked at the screen, and then put it back in her purse.
"Who was that?" I asked.
"Nothing important," she replied.
"If it was Lisa, don't you dare answer," I warned.
"It wasn't Lisa. It was Seulgi. I broke up with her. I know she knew about all this but didn't tell me," Irene admitted.
"Same here," Wendy said. "I haven't answered Bambam's calls or messages. He knew too."
"Even me. I had a date with Rosé tonight, but I didn’t show up. I don’t know if I want to see her again. It’s like I’ve lost interest. They all knew and kept it from us. They fooled us," I said bitterly.
"Enough!" Jennie's cry interrupted my thoughts.
We all turned to her, startled by her outburst.
"Don't involve them in this," she sobbed. "Blame me. It’s my fault. I kept the truth from you because I knew you wouldn't approve of my relationship with Lisa. I loved her, and I chose to love her even more despite knowing everything. Maybe I deserve this pain."
Seeing her so miserable, crying for the person she loved, broke my heart. I never imagined it would come to this. I approached her and wrapped my arms around her.
"No, Jennie, you’re just a victim of someone who didn’t deserve your love. Lisa fooled us all. Don’t blame yourself. She’ll pay for this. I know you're exhausted. Please, try to get some rest."
I guided her to my room, helping her onto the bed. I placed a pillow behind her and wrapped a blanket around her. "I wish I was enough," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"You are more than enough, Jennie. Far beyond that," I reassured her, but she had already fallen asleep before I could say more.
"Goodnight, Jennie," I whispered, turning off the light.
Just as I was about to leave, she called my name. "Jisoo?"
"Yes, Jennie?" I asked softly, but there was no reply. She had drifted back into sleep.
