JENNIE POV.

The party had finally come to an end. The guests had all gone home, leaving behind a trail of congratulations and well-wishes. The house was quiet now, a stark contrast to the vibrant celebration that had just taken place. I could still hear the echoes of laughter and the cheers of our friends and family, but now, it was just Lisa and me.

Lisa took my hand, her touch gentle yet firm, and led me to the living room. We settled on the couch, the reality of the night starting to sink in. I glanced down at the ring on my finger, still sparkling with a promise of our future together. It felt surreal.

"Can you believe it?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

Lisa smiled, her eyes soft and filled with love. "I keep pinching myself to make sure it's real," she said, pulling me closer.

I rested my head on her shoulder, feeling the warmth of her body against mine. "You made my birthday the most unforgettable day of my life," I murmured.

Lisa kissed the top of my head, her lips lingering for a moment. "You deserve nothing but the best, Jennie."

We sat there for a while, basking in the afterglow of the evening. The night had been perfect, a whirlwind of emotions and joy. I thought about how meticulously Lisa must have planned everything, how much love and effort she had put into making this moment special for me.

"Do you remember the first time we met?" She asked, her voice tinged with nostalgia.

I chuckled softly. "How could I forget? You were so serious and focused. I thought I'd never get you to smile."

She laughed, the sound light and free. "And look at us now. Engaged."

I turned to face her, my eyes locking onto her. "Can you I ask something?"

"Yes, what is it?" she asked, her eyes curious.

"Are you sure about me?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly.

Her brow furrowed in concern. "Aren't you happy that I proposed to you?"

"I am," I said, "I'm just scared, Lisa..."

"Scared of what?"

"Scared that something might happen, that you might leave me someday."

She took my hands in hers, her grip reassuring. "Jennie, listen to me. I will never leave you, no matter what happens. You have to trust that."

I nodded, feeling satisfied with her response. "I trusted you, Lisa.. I just ca.."

"Shush!" she cut me off, as she leaned in and kissed me, a slow, tender kiss that made my heart flutter. "I can't wait to start this journey with you," she whispered against my lips.

The clock ticked on, but time seemed to stand still for us. We talked about our future, about our dreams and plans. The hours slipped by unnoticed, each moment a new memory to cherish.

Eventually, fatigue began to set in. "Let's go to bed," she suggested, her voice soft and soothing.

I agreed, feeling a mix of excitement and tranquility. We made our way upstairs, hand in hand, and slipped into bed. As we lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, I felt a profound sense of peace.

"Goodnight, my fiancée," she whispered, her breath warm against my ear.

"Goodnight, my love," I replied, my heart full and content. As I closed my eyes, I knew that whatever the future held, we would face it together, side by side.

The night had been magical, but I knew it was just the beginning. Our journey was just starting, and I couldn't wait to see where it would take us. With Lisa by my side, I was ready for anything.

"I can't believe Jennie is already engaged to Lisa," Wendy exclaimed, holding her face as she blinked her eyes in amazement.

"Why, are you jealous?" Irene teased as she devoured her food.

"No! I'm just happy for them," Wendy defended, then sighed. "I felt guilty for what I told Jennie about Lisa last time."

"That's because you're a very judgmental woman. I hope you feel guilty for the rest of your life," Irene retorted, smirking.

"You're worse, Irene! You talk like I'm not your friend," Wendy shot back, holding her chest as if she were hurt.

"They deserve each other. We've seen them through their ups and downs. I’m sure their children will be beautiful. Ahhh! I can't wait to see Jennie in a white gown," Irene said, giggling at the thought.

"I want to see a mini Lisa first," Jackson chimed in, exhaling smoke from his vape.

Wendy slapped his arm. "No! Mini Jennie first," she insisted, rolling her eyes. Their laughter filled the room.

"You know, when Jennie and I were young, her dream was to marry the person she loves the most, the person she’ll love for the rest of her life. The person she wants to grow old with and—" Jisoo’s sentimental moment was interrupted by Seulgi choking on her food. Jisoo quickly handed her water.

"Are you okay, Seulgi?" Jisoo asked, worriedly patting Seulgi's back.

Seulgi nodded, glancing at Bambam, who quickly averted his eyes.

The next morning,

JENNIE POV.

I checked the time on my wristwatch and rolled my eyes. I was late. Riding the VIP elevator up to my office, I couldn't help but think about yesterday. I had taken the day off to spend time with Lisa, savoring every moment because her trips to Jeju were unpredictable. This morning, I had been mad at her for making me late. She had asked for just "one round," but that one round had turned into five. If Jisoo hadn’t called, I’m sure Lisa wouldn’t have stopped. But this was one of the reasons I loved her so much—her passion and intensity kept the fire in our relationship alive.

My thoughts were interrupted as the elevator doors opened. I bit my lip before stepping out and heading towards my office.

"Good morning, Ms. CEO," one of my employees greeted me.

"Good morning, Ms. CEO Kim. Congratulations on your engagement yesterday," another chimed in.

I thanked them and continued walking. As I approached my office, my eyes widened at the sight of numerous flowers and gifts piled outside the door, making it look like a floral shop. I called my secretary over.

"Joy, take all of that and put it inside my office!"

She rushed to comply, and I didn’t wait for her to finish before entering. I sank into my chair, feeling a wave of exhaustion. Moments later, I saw her bringing in the flowers and gifts.

"Why were they outside?" I asked her.

"Many gifts were sent to you yesterday, Ms. Kim. Some of them didn't believe you weren't here, so they came and just left their gifts outside."

"I wish you had put them in the conference room yesterday to avoid the clutter. The gifts are beautiful, it’s a shame to leave them like that."

"I'm sorry, Ms. Kim," she apologized, bowing her head.

"Okay, finish up," I said, picking up my phone.

A message from Lisa made my heart skip a beat: "That was an incredible performance, honey. You make me hard again. I can't wait to see you. I'll pick you up later after my meeting. I love you."

I bit my lip, smiling at her words. "Pervert!" I replied.

"Only for you, my love," she quickly responded.

"Stop teasing me, I'm fragile."

"I'm going to work now, hon. See you later. I love you too," I added, sending my message.

"Alright, don’t think of me too much, lest I get tired," she replied.

This woman never ran out of playful energy. I put my phone back in my purse and started working. I had to finish my tasks before Lisa picked me up for our first lunch date as an engaged couple. The thought of seeing her again filled me with excitement, making the day's work feel lighter.
