"Thank you, Architect. What you've presented goes beyond my expectations. I truly admire your design and the creativity in how your ideas come together," Mr. David, the client, expressed, extending his hand for a handshake.
Lisa Manoban, the architect, responded with gratitude, "Thank you, sir, for placing your trust in me. It's my greatest satisfaction to serve you, and ensuring my clients are content is my foremost priority. I'm truly honored to be a part of your substantial project, Mr. David."
Mr. David continued, "Your professionalism and dedication are admirable, Archt. Manoban. You've earned this. It's all yours. I'm looking forward to the success of this project."
"I assure you, sir, we'll make this project a success."
Mr. David nodded, adding, "Well, I have to get going. I still have some work at my office."
With that, Mr. David bid his goodbye and departed, his bodyguards in tow. Lisa stood there, confident in her abilities and excited for the challenges and triumphs that the upcoming project would bring.
Lisa had maintained a professional relationship with Mr. David for several years, but due to fierce competition with more renowned contractors, she had seldom secured substantial projects from him. However, as Mr. David's company continued its expansion, he ultimately selected Lisa's firm for the construction of his new branch in Busan. This decision marked a significant turning point in her career and brought a renewed sense of determination to succeed.
Elated by this opportunity, Lisa was in high spirits as she immediately called her secretary, instructing her to assemble the team for an urgent meeting. This project represented a significant milestone for Lisa and her firm, and she was eager to discuss their strategies to ensure its success.
JENNIE POV.
As the hours passed, some of employees had left the building, but I remained surrounded by stacks of paperwork. I felt the weariness creeping in, but I had to complete this report before I could finally head home. My stomach grumbled loudly, a reminder of how hungry I was, so I decided to order food online to save time.
With my order placed, I returned to reviewing the documents. In the midst of this, my phone rang, displaying Jisoo's name.
"Hello?" I answered.
"I thought you were already asleep. I noticed your lights were off when I passed by your house," She said in the other line.
I sighed, "No, I'm still at the office. I need to finish this report, and it has to be emailed before midnight. Did you receive my emails?"
"Yes, I've got everything,"
We discussed the details of the emails, and I was about to end the call when she added a thoughtful note, "I've noticed you've been working quite a bit lately. Maybe you should think about taking some time off or a vacation. I could join you."
I smiled, appreciating her concern. "That's a good idea, Chu, but not now. Perhaps next time."
"I smiled, appreciating her concern. "That's a good idea, Jisoo, but not now. Perhaps next time."
"Okay, just tell me."
"How about you let me take care of everything tomorrow so that you can rest," she proposed.
"Really?!"
"Of course. Do you think I'm joking?" I heard her laugh through the phone.
"Thank you so much, chu. You know how much you mean to me."
"All right, finish that up so you can head home and get some rest."
After my conversation with Jisoo, it felt as though a weight had been lifted, and I could finally look forward to some much-needed rest.
Meanwhile, Jennie had completed her report and was about to send it when her stomach grumbled loudly. She was starving, as her ordered meals hadn't arrived yet. Massaging her temples to alleviate her exhaustion and numbness from sitting all day, she contemplated taking a nap.
Just as she was about to drift off, a sudden knock on her door jolted her awake.
The food she had ordered had finally arrived.
"Please, just put it there. Why did it take so long?"
Jennie asked the delivery man, her eyes still glued to her phone.
"I apologize, ma'am. The restaurant you ordered from was swamped with customers, so it caused a delay," the delivery man explained.
As he set up the food, Jennie perked up at the sound of a familiar voice.
And...
She couldn't believe her eyes. It was indeed Lisa standing there.
For a moment, Jennie couldn't tell if she was just hallucinating from hunger and exhaustion.
"Lisa?" she muttered, utterly surprised.
Lisa replied with a warm smile as she held up the bags of food.
“Yes, it's me."
Jennie was taken aback. "How, why?"
Lisa set the food down and approached Jennie. "Did I catch you by surprise?" She teased, poking Jennie's nose.
Jennie was stunned, stammering, "B...But, how?"
Lisa playfully shushed her, placing a finger gently between Jennie's lips. She then glanced at the gold wooden name tag on Jennie's table.
Jennie Ruby Jane, Kim
C.E.OLisa looked back at her and said, "Let's eat before the food gets cold."
With that, Lisa turned and began unpacking the food, leaving Jennie still in a state of amazement.
