JENNIE POV.
"Our company is rapidly expanding with growing profitability. I understand it's not easy to manage a business, but rest assured, I've talked to Jisoo, and she's ready to assist you,"
Dad's voice echoed through the phone, carrying an unusual gravity. I listened carefully, sensing a hidden intention behind his words.
"You're going to be the face of our company soon, this is a significant role. If all goes well, I believe history will be in your favor," he continued.
His words sent a shiver down my spine. Something felt amiss. "I understand, Dad. I'm well aware of how crucial this business is, and I've been meticulous in ensuring everything is in order. You can trust me," I replied, trying to hide my unease.
"I do believe in you, Jennie. I've seen your potential, and that's why I've placed my trust in you. But there's a limit to the path you can take," he said, his tone serious.
I couldn't help but ask, "What do you mean, Dad?"
"I need you to investigate. There's someone mismanaging the company and diverting funds for personal gain. If we don't uncover it soon, the company may face collapse," he revealed.
I was stunned by his revelation. Initially, I had questioned some of the management decisions made by Dad, and now I was starting to see the reason behind my doubts. These individuals were acting like rats, hiding in the shadows.
"Dad," I declared firmly, "I'll take full responsibility for this. I'll personally track them down and make sure they face the consequences."
On the other hand,
As Lisa reviewed the plans for their next project, she couldn't help but offer her professional insight. "It should be elevated here, and this hallway seems too wide," she commented, her discerning eye not missing any detail.
"I'm sorry, Architect, I'll make the adjustments immediately," her Junior Architect responded, earnestly taking notes.
Lisa continued to scrutinize the whiteprints. "And the materials you've selected will be excessively costly. I've already provided you with the budget, haven't I? Why can't you stick to it?"
Exasperation crept into Lisa's tone as she clenched her hand at her neck. She took a moment to collect herself before resuming her scrutiny.
"How many months have you been with us?" she inquired.
"T-Two months, Architect," the Junior Architect stammered, her voice wavering with nervousness.
With a firm resolve, Lisa expressed her expectations. "I won't tolerate these kinds of errors. Finish the revisions right away, and you won't leave until it's done, understood?"
"Yes, Architect."
"Dismissed!”
Jihyo quickly gathered her whiteprints and returned to her desk, determined to rectify her mistakes.
With the pressing matter addressed, Lisa reached for her phone and dialed a number.
"Engr. Jimin, I need you to oversee Jihyo's work. We require it for tomorrow's presentation, and I can't stay late tonight."
JENNIE POV.
"So, she finally invited you for a date?"
"Irene, it's just a date, I'm not going to sleep with her, not anymore." I replied, trying to clarify and realizing that I had unintentionally shared more than I intended. Irene didn't know about my current relationship with Lisa, and I had to be cautious.
