JENNIE POV

As I watched Lisa sleep, her peaceful expression belied the turmoil raging inside me. My fingers traced the angry red wound on her lip, a stark reminder of the violence that had marred our evening. I seethed with fury, unable to shake off the sense of frustration that gnawed at my insides.

Seulgi's words echoed in my mind, her explanation of the events at the bar filling me with a mixture of rage and despair. How could they have let this happen to her? I had entrusted Lisa to their care, believing they would keep her safe. But now, as I looked at her bruised and battered face, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger towards them.

"Jennie, why are you awake?" Lisa's raspy voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to the present.

"What are you thinking? Why aren't you sleeping?" she asked, her eyes searching mine as she hugged my hand tightly.

I forced a smile, the weight of my emotions pressing down on me like a leaden blanket. "I'm just watching you," I replied softly, my voice tinged with sadness.

"Wow, a beautiful angel is watching over me," she murmured, her eyes fluttering open to meet mine.

"I love you, Jennie. I really love you," she whispered, leaning in to kiss my lips tenderly. I returned the kiss, but it was marred by the sharp hiss of pain that escaped her lips.

"Ouch!" she exclaimed, pulling away slightly.

"Oh my god! I'm sorry, hon!" I cried, my heart clenching with guilt as I saw blood trickling from her lips.

"Hon, you're bleeding!" I gasped, panic rising in my chest.

I scrambled to find a cotton ball, my hands trembling as I dabbed at the blood staining her lips.

"It's okay, just a small wound," she reassured me, her voice barely above a whisper.

I couldn't contain the surge of anger that swept over me, and before I knew it, I had slapped her arms in frustration.

"Aww! What's that for?" she asked, confusion clouding her features.

"For not taking care of yourself," I snapped, my voice trembling with emotion.

"I'm sorry, hon. It won't happen again, I promise," she said, clinging to my arms desperately.

In that moment, as I looked at Lisa's bruised face, I couldn't help but feel a surge of empathy wash over me. Despite my initial anger, seeing her vulnerable and hurt reminded me of how much I loved her. She had a way of softening me, of making me forget all my troubles with just a simple touch.

We had been together for so long, and the topic of starting a family had been on my mind for a while now. As we sat there, the words hanging in the air between us, I knew it was time to broach the subject. It was a conversation we had danced around for months, both of us unsure of how the other would react. But now, as I looked into her eyes, I knew that I couldn't keep putting it off any longer.

"Lisa," I began, my voice trembling slightly. "I've been thinking a lot about what you said lately... about wanting to start a family."

Lisa's eyes met mine, and I could see a flicker of uncertainty in them. "Yeah?" she replied softly, prompting me to continue.

"I... I want that too," I admitted, my cheeks flushing with emotion. "I want us to have a child together."

For a moment, there was silence as Lisa processed my words. Then, a smile spread across her face, and I felt a surge of relief flood through me.

"Jennie," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Are you serious?"

I nodded, my heart swelling with love for this woman sitting in front of me. "I've never been more serious about anything in my life," I replied earnestly. "I want to share this journey with you, to create a life together."

Tears glistened in Lisa's eyes as she reached across the table to take my hand in hers. "Jennie, I... I don't know what to say," she said, her voice choked with emotion. "I've dreamed about this for so long, but I never thought it could be a reality."

"It can be," I assured her, squeezing her hand gently. "With you by my side, anything is possible."

A sense of peace settled over us as we sat there, basking in the warmth of each other's love. In that moment, I knew that no matter what the future held, we would face it together, hand in hand, ready to embrace whatever life had in store for us.
