I was buzzing with excitement as I got ready for our dinner date. Lisa had promised me a special evening, and I couldn't wait to spend some quality time together. After the whirlwind of our engagement, a quiet, romantic dinner was exactly what we needed. I chose a dress that I knew Lisa loved and smiled at my reflection in the mirror. Tonight was going to be perfect.

Lisa arrived at our place, looking as handsome as ever in her tailored suit. She kissed me on the cheek, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "You look stunning, Jennie," she said, her voice filled with warmth.

"You don't look too bad yourself," I teased, feeling a flutter in my stomach as we headed out.

The restaurant was elegant, with soft lighting and a cozy atmosphere. We were seated at a private table, and for a while, everything was perfect. We laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed our meal. I felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing we were building our future together.

Just as we were finishing our main course, a woman's voice interrupted our moment. "Lisa?"

I saw Lisa's eyes widen in surprise as she stood up from her chair. "Wasa! What are you doing here?" Lisa asked, clearly taken aback.

Wasa's gaze shifted between us, her eyes filled with a mix of surprise and curiosity. "It's really you! I noticed you earlier but didn't know how to approach you."

Lisa glanced at me before turning back to Wasa. "Wasa, this is Jennie, my fiancée. Jennie, this is Wasa, an old friend from Thailand."

I noticed Wasa froze for a moment when she heard the word "fiancée." I grinned before extending my hand, aware that she was one of Lisa's admirers back in high school. "Nice to meet you, Wasa," I said, smiling warmly.

Wasa struggled to find her voice but managed to say, "Oh... Nice to meet you, Jennie."

"Excuse me, Jennie," Lisa said softly. "Could you please come with me for a moment?"

We stepped aside, and I could see the tension in Lisa's eyes. "Yes, Lisa, what is it?" I asked, concerned.

"I think we should leave now. It's getting quite late, and I have an early meeting with my client tomorrow," she explained, her voice tight.

I found her behavior a bit odd but trusted her instincts. "Okay, I also have important things to do in the office tomorrow," I agreed, although I was still puzzled by the sudden change.

We quickly settled the bill and made our way out of the restaurant. The night air was cool, and as we walked back to the car, I squeezed Lisa's hand. "Is everything okay?" I asked gently.

Lisa sighed, giving me a small, reassuring smile. "Yes, everything's fine. I just didn't want to make things awkward with Wasa."

I nodded, understanding. "I get it. Let's just focus on us tonight."

As we drove home, I looked over at Lisa, feeling a deep sense of love and gratitude. Despite the unexpected interruption, I knew we were solid. Our future was bright, and nothing could shake the foundation we had built together.

Back at our place, we settled in for a quiet evening, enjoying each other's company. The earlier tension melted away, replaced by the warmth and comfort of being together. As I lay in Lisa's arms, I knew that no matter what surprises came our way, we would face them together, stronger than ever.
