After an unexpected reunion that turned into an emotional evening of confessions, V and Jennie realized the importance of their friendship and decided to move forward, rekindling their bond.
Over the following days, they spent more time together, talking, sharing their life stories, and rediscovering the camaraderie they had always cherished. They went for walks, explored the city, and even enjoyed their favorite childhood treats.
After an enjoyable day spent together, V drove Jennie home and parked his car in front of her house. They both remained in the car, the engine off, for a moment of silence.
Jennie look at V, her eyes was kind of happy, “I know it's not enough to thank you, but I really appreciate the time I spent with you, V.” Jennie started, her voice filled with genuine gratitude.
V nodded, a soft smile playing on his lips as he met Jennie’s gaze. “I should be the one to thank you, Jennie. You gave me the opportunity to rebuild our friendship and this is will be a start.”
Jennie’s eyes sparkled with gratitude, a warmth spreading through her chest. “Thank you, V. “I'll always cherish the memories we've shared.” she replied softly, her voice carrying the depth of her appreciation.
Feeling the weight of unspoken words pressing upon him, V took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he knew he had to say.
"But.. Jennie, there's something on my mind that I need to share with you.”
Jennie's expression softened, a hint of concern flickering in her eyes. "What is it, V? You can tell me anything."
V swallowed hard, his heart pounding in his chest as he gathered his thoughts. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I realize that I still care deeply about you. But I also respect our friendship immensely, and I would never want to do anything to jeopardize it."
Jennie listened intently, her gaze unwavering as V spoke. "So, what I'm trying to say is... when Lisa comes back, I hope we can continue spending time together like we used to. I value your friendship more than anything, Jennie, and I don't want anything to change between us."
Jennie's eyes softened with understanding, a gentle smile playing at the corners of her lips. "V, our friendship means the world to me too. And while I can't promise what the future holds, but we can spend time together without any misunderstandings. I can promise that I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
As they stepped out of the car and walked towards Jennie's doorstep, V couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him. Though his heart still yearned for something more, he knew that their friendship was a treasure worth protecting. And as he bid Jennie goodnight with a lingering hug, he felt a glimmer of hope flicker within him, knowing that their bond would endure whatever challenges lay ahead.
As V drove home after dropping Jennie off, he couldn't shake the feeling of longing and regret that had haunted him since their emotional reunion. He wanted Jennie back, but he also understood that he needed time for healing and reflection. Determined to navigate his feelings with patience and care, he resolved to prioritize his own well-being while remaining open to the possibility of a future with Jennie.
Meanwhile, as Jennie lay in bed, preparing to drift off to sleep, her thoughts were consumed by memories of Lisa and the conversations they would have upon her return. Though she missed Lisa deeply, she also felt a renewed sense of appreciation for the bond she shared with V. Several days had passed since Lisa left for her work trip, and the absence of her warmth in their shared bed was keenly felt.
Tears welled up in Jennie's eyes, and she whispered softly to the empty room, "I miss you, Lisa. I can't wait for you to come back. Sleep feels incomplete without you by my side."
With a heavy heart, Jennie embraced Lisa's pillow, clinging to the hope that the days would pass quickly and bring her love back into her arms.
