The abandoned corridors in the dungeons were cold and dark and reeked of black mould. The only warmth in the dark hallway was from the warm hue of my cigarette as I leaned against the cobblestone wall. Malfoy was speaking to the group, informing us what Voldemort had told them at the death eater meeting.

"It's a small village, a few kilometres west of Little Hangleton," He went on, "Only about five hundred muggles, not even, it'll be quick and easy." He told everyone before turning to me, "The Dark Lord wants you to join."

My eyes widened unintentionally as I snapped them to Malfoy, "Excuse me?"

"Tomorrow night you're coming with us," He explained,

"No, I'm not," I protested,

"Voldemort's orders, Lil," Evan sighed, "We all gotta go along,"

"I'm not even a death eater, I shouldn't have to,"

"You're the Dark Lord's niece," Crouch countered, "That's worse,"

"Do you know if any students have families in this village? Can we warn anyone?" I dropped the cigarette, letting the little warmth in the air die.

"Just mudbloods," Malfoy tilted his head in confusion, "Who cares?"

"Voldemort wants you by his side," Evan went on, "He said that it would teach you to stay away from muggleborns,"

"Who dobbed?" I scanned them all,

"Mucibler," Evan told me,

"I only told him about you and Lupin at that party!" Mucibler protested, "You were all over him!"

"So, you told my uncle? What the fuck is wrong with you?" I threw my head against the cobblestone before lifting it back off quickly, "You didn't say anything about Black, did you?"

"No, I didn't," Mucibler admitted,

"What's going to happen to Remus?"

They all shrugged, "Voldemort didn't care – He was just asking if you'd been hanging around Sirius. Greyback was the only one who made a deal out of it for some reason," Malfoy shrugged it off,

"Isn't that 'cause Greyback killed his father?" Evan thought to himself, "Lyall Lupin, something like that?"

"Who knows? No one can keep track of who Greyback has killed," I muttered, swerving the conversation, "What'd you tell Voldemort about Black?"

"Just that you're only interactions were with malicious intent," Ev shoved his hands into his pockets, "And besides, Reg'll gut us all alive if he wakes up to find out we got his brother killed,"

"Rosier's right, we all hate Sirius but not enough to face Reg's wrath," Malfoy chuckled to himself,

I nodded to myself, "I'm gonna head to bed, I think,"

"'Ight, meet here before dinner tomorrow night, yeah?" Malfoy told me, "Don't be fucking late,"

"I won't be fuckin' late," I mocked, "Later, cunts," I walked back towards the common room,

It was only as I laid down in my bed that I really let my stomach grow sick.

I couldn't go with them tomorrow night. Five hundred muggles – Five hundred innocent muggles were to die – And I was to stand by Voldemort's side.

I could not – I would not.

My head was down at the Slytherin table, swirling my porridge around with my spoon as the chatter continued as normal. "Training tonight, boys," Lucinda reminded as she sat down,
