Although all had calmed, I still hadn't found my mother. And I knew it didn't matter anymore but I needed to find her. I'd been to Cox Manor, I'd been to the remains of my mormor's old home and my grandmother's house. But as I sat in Godric Hollow, smoking a cigarette while everyone else spoke, I just couldn't figure it out.
My mother hated London, she wasn't in London. I'd have found her by now. London was large, yes, but my mother barely knew London. She knew a small cottage in West Sweden but Voldemort had gotten to it first. Cox Manor was still an option. And wherever my brother was also an option. Or Potter Manor. She and Euphemia had some kind of alliance after Zachariah became Zachary.
But me and my mother were far too alike. We were both runners. And my mother was willing to run for the rest of her life, I knew that. So, where did a runner go? Who would know? When I ran I ran in whatever direction would get me furthest away from anyone yet still somewhere I was familiar with. I ran away to France because I knew France but no one else knew France. So, somewhere in Scandinavia? Finland. She'd mentioned visiting Finland when she was a child.
"Lillian," Someone said and I snapped out of my little haze, looking around the group,
"Hm?" I took a drag of my mostly burnt-out fag.
"Did you hear what I just said?"
"What'd you just say?"
"Are you going deaf?"
"If I am it's definitely from Sirius's snoring," I murmured, rubbing my head.
"I don't snore!" Sirius protested from where he stood with Lily, pouring a bag of crisps into a bowl.
"If it helps you sleep at night." I grinned at him, letting the conversation continue so I could get back to where I was.
Finland. Where in Finland? Helsinki? Vantaa? I didn't know many Finnish cities. Or maybe she was in a town in the middle of Finland. Or maybe she wasn't even in Finland and maybe I should've just given up on her.
She'd have given up on me by now anyways.
"Moony, how do you work the telly!?" James called out, "The quidditch is starting,"
"The red button, Prongs," Remus muttered as he sat on the sofa between Dominic and me. Except I was on the end, looking at Mehen who had coiled on the arm beside me.
"Mistress, we are safe," Mehen hissed, lifting his head to look at me with his beading black eyes,
"Why are you talking to Mehen?"
"Just double checking on something," I said.
Remus and Dominic were attempting to pull off the stunt I did at the Order meeting. The two were inching closer every moment they got it and it was so clear they were balls deep in each other.
Remus put Dominic in a chokehold and Dominic threw Remus over his back. Remus screamed as his feet almost slipped but Dominic grabbed his ribs, keeping him in place. There was a loud crack from his back. "My back. Holy cow, my back." Remus cried, "Holy shit, I think I just broke my back."
"Now, push yourself up, Moony," James said,
Dominic still held his hands around Remus's ribcage, keeping the bony boy in place. "Just lower yourself," Dominic said,
"How the fuck am I supposed to do that?" Remus's asked, tilting his head up to look at Dominic, keeping his arms on Dominic's hips.
"That is some of the gayest shit I've ever seen," Marlene whispered to Sirius but he only held up his index finger,
I leaned over, placing a hand on Sirius's thigh, "He's upset it's Dominic with Remus's cock up his ass."
"You're like that intrusive thought in the back of my mind I really want to hit sometimes but I'm against hitting women so I can't," Remus told me, shuffling his hands down Dominic's thighs in order to get on the ground.
