Meng Yao's pov
No matter how much I hate this, I have to complete my mother's last wish. Mother told me to check her room for more details about that man.
So here I am standing outside a house with the address in my hands. I checked that again, seems like I am in front of the right house. I slowly walked to the door and rang the bell, a moment later a man in his late 40s opened the door. A frown on his face was on display, a completely disrespectful way to welcome someone, but I shrug it off.
I asked him politely "Sir, can you please help me to find Mr. Jin Guangshan" He replied rudely "Yes, I am Jin Guangshan. What do you want from me?" That's it I am done with this man. Does he have any manners? I controlled myself and said "I am Meng Yao son of Meng Shi, your girlfriend whom you promised to marry but left her alone to die" I looses all my patience at this point.
But what happened next, completely shocked me. He said "Oh my god. You are Meng Shi's son. I thought I lost both of you. I loved your mother more than my life, but because my parents don't agree with our relationship, I have to marry another woman. When I tried to approach your mother, my parents sent her away. I tried so hard to find you two, but I can't" he told me while sobbing. Is he regretting leaving my mom?
He then asked me in an excited tone "Where is your mother, my love, my Meng Shi" he was looking at me with expectations in his eyes. I hesitantly told him "I am sorry Mr. Jin but my mother passed away a week ago. Her last wish was for me to approach you."
