As I stepped onto the platform it was cold and I pulled my coat tighter over my self. It seems like all I could see around were people for my university, all dressed up and excited. Some looked at me and smiled. A few came up to ask where I was going and if I wanted to join them. Most where going down to London, so I agreed to go to a decent club with one group who were on the waiting list, but I had something more on mind. As everyone waited for the train I quickly excused myself to make a call.
"Hey there beautiful whats up?" A groggy voice said from the other line, I scoffed at the compliment, he couldn't help it.
"So I was wondering if you can get me in to the club your sugar daddy owns." I said into the line with anticipation. Lucas coughed and I heard shuffling noises. "Oh you're with him as well, so I guess you can ask?" I said with a little bit fruitiness in my voice.
"Why don't you ask him yourself." He said as I heard more muffling and before I knew it Mr. Baxter was on the phone greeting me as politely as ever.
"Hey Mr. Baxter." I said politely.
"Rachael please, call me Richard." He said with his smooth voice. "So is there something I can help you with darling?" He said with his kind yet extremely professional voice.
"I was wondering if you can get me on the guest list of your club, I know it's highly exclusive and difficult to get in but Mr. Baxter, Richard, I could really use those nice bartenders who tell me how nice I am, plus I don't mind the exclusive treatment tonight." I said with a collected voice. We both silently understood this about each other, him and I. How to be professional all the time.
"It would be a little hard, especially today. But you clearly seem in need of it, I'll see what I can do and call you in a while." He said his voice losing wavering a bit. 'Lucas.' I thought with a smile.
"Thank you Mr. Baxter."
"You're welcome Rachael darling, and one more thing before you hang up." He said quickly so I don't disconnect."
"Yes Mr. Baxter?"
"Richard. And have you considered my job offer? Straight out of University and the pay will be good. We could use someone like you on my team." I blushed a little, he always felt the need to remind me even though I had probably agreed to this silently the first time he suggested it.
"Well we'll both know for sure after I graduate in one and a half years Richard."
"Good enough. And I just added you to the guest list. Be there at midnight Rachael, the bouncer will let you in." I looked at my watch, it read seven.
"That's perfect Mr. Baxter, thank you."
