I lay patiently on the bed as the phone kept charging, I looked up at the ceiling, wondering about what I'd do when I finally got home. The phone beeped to signal that it was completely charged but I stayed in my spot. If they didn't want me there while they were discussing something I would respect that. I was, after all, an outsider. After a while I remembered that Louis wanted his phone urgently. I cursed myself for acting so childish and picked up his phone to walk downstairs.
"Where have you been?" Louis said looking up from the television with a smile, there was no one else around.
"Well your phone was almost fully charged so I waited." I said with a smile as I sat down beside him and handed him his phone. He took it and placed a gentle kiss against my lips. He did it so casually, like it was the most natural thing, it almost took my breath away. He sat back and stared at the television, I paid attention to what he was watching and conforming to every cliché and stereotype there was he was watching a bloody football match. I smiled a little at how domestic this all felt.
"Where is everyone?" I asked, noticing how quiet it all was.
"They went to run some errands, Nanna insisting on going too. Can I lie on your lap?" He said without missing a beat. His casual approach was admirable.
"Sure." I said trying my best to mirror his nonchalance. His eyes glinted with playfulness as he laid his head on my lap and faced the match. My hands subconsciously went to his hair and I started stroking it gently till I heard him sigh, causing me to blush a little but continue.
After a while he turned to look up and face me instead of the TV to stare. I sensed him looking but continued to stare at the screen. After a while I gave up and sighed, looking down at him. He smiled when our eyes met but the look of pure adoration didn't leave his eyes, it bought pain in mine as I smiled and stroked his hair. What was he doing?
"So there's no one home?" I asked finally
"Well.." He started and then paused to think. "Technically." He finally answered, looking like he was proud of his response.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I said to which he smiled mischievously, as if on cue a muffled noise sounded from under him and he quickly got up and turned around to grab my hand and pull me upstairs with him, smiling all the while.
