We were all busy giggling when we heard footsteps walk down the stairs, we were all shushed and we all sat quietly. The footsteps got closer to the kitchen and we all turned to see.
"Well I'm don-" Louis' voice sounded as he walked in, but he paused immediately and looked at me suspiciously, then he glanced around at his family and bought his gaze back to me. I blushed and look down and Louis spoke up with a stern voice.
"Okay what did you tell her?" He said, his gaze still on mine.
"What makes you think-" His sister started but he shot her a look and then looked back at me.
"Look at her!" He said pointing. "She can't look me in the eye." He said with a ghost of a smile. "She happened to help me when I broke my arm in the shower. I am terrified to think what could be worse." I tried to stifle my laughter causing others to do the same. Louis narrowed his eyes further, settling on me like the weakest of the herd to prey on. I was the one absolutely taken by him and the twat knew it. I sighed and then put on a smirk.
"Your family was just telling me how much you loved dressing up when you were a little boy." His eyes furrowed in confusion before they widened in ghastly revelation. At the same time I handed him the photo album that I was scanning through, the picture of him in his mom's dress, make up and her pearls. He looked down and snatched the album away quickly and everyone around laughed to their heart's content. I gave him a smug smile, making it look like I wanted to give in and tell him. I crossed my arms in front of me and soon enough even he broke into a smile. He then sighed and went and sat next to his Nanna.
"Don't worry Lou, I don't think your girlfriend will leave you because you liked pretty things." His Nanna said as he put his arm around her and lifted his chin to look me in the eyes.
"Oh I still like pretty things Nanna, very much." He said before he winked causing my eyes to go wide as a deep blush crept into my face, after which I just gave a quick snort as I shook my head at him. His Nanna playfully slapped his arm for teasing and they both laughed while I shamelessly stared, mesmerised by how happy he looked.
"You really like him don't you?" A voice whispered in my ears causing me to break out of my trance I turned to find his younger sister looking at me with a playful smile but earnest eyes.
"Don't tease her." Her mother said with a warning voice from behind glasses and whatever paperwork she was doing. His sister then bit her lip but still looked at me expectantly, I thought about it for a second then took a deep breath, after which I smiled and nodded. She smiled and took a deep breath herself, like she was about to speak.
"Don't tell him yet though, he'll be all smug about it as usual." I whispered to her. She giggled then nodded I smiled and mouthed a thank you.
"What are you two muttering about?" Louis asked and his sister giggled causing me to smile.
"Oh your sister and I were just wondering if you look better in pearls or diamonds." I turned to him and said.
"We aren't letting that go are we?" He said with a sigh. I shook my head with a shrug and he just gave me a strangely sweet look.
"What date is it today?" His mom asked still staring at the papers she was working on, tapping her pen and addressing the question to no one in particular. Her daughter answered after looking at her phone and her mom thanked her before finally wrapping her things up.
"Hey Rachael?" Louis asked causing me to turn to him. He looked like he was just punched in the stomach.
"Yes?" I asked, a little nervous myself.
"Could you get my phone from upstairs? It's charging, make sure it's at least a 50% before getting it down though will you? I really need it."
"Um..sure." I said thoroughly confused at his sudden urgency. Still not wanting to pry I got up to go up to his room. As I reached the last step I could swear I heard hushed voices.
