After a while he spoke up again, "I should get going." He said with a sigh and handed me his barely touched glass. "I have to drive." He said explaining and then just stood there. I smiled and finished his glass in one large gulp. "Whoa slow down." He laughed. I stared into the glass.
"I need this; it's getting harder to sleep alone these days." After a second I bit my lip, I should not have said that. I should just stop speaking. I turned to see him. The look of a fondled soul was back. I still didn't get what it meant. I turned to him, taking him out of his trance. He took a large breathe and spoke up.
"Come on let's get you bed." He just said and took my hand, I followed.
When we reached my bedroom he pulled the cover down and I slid in, moving to the other side and turning around. I couldn't watch him leave. I felt the bed dip and before I could turn I heard a whisper, "Go to sleep, I'll leave when you're asleep." That simple sentence made my heart twist in the most painful way. I smiled.
"What if I don't fall asleep then?" I asked and we both chuckled.
"You're already sleepy." He said. I kept looking at the wall in front of me. "I promise I'll be here till you do." I closed my eyes as a single tear drop escaped abruptly and hit the pillow.
"Good night Louis." I said as another tear blurred my vision. I didn't want to say goodbye. I closed my eyes and moulded into him. "Try to remember me." I added.
"No one forgets exceptions." My eyes felt heavy and I hummed as I drifted into sleep.
