He walked up to a door and with the widest grin I had seen on him he opened the door. My eyes turned from that of confusion to revelation followed by just a genuine smile as he pulled my hand up to the cot and I looked into the eyes of two beautiful babies.
"I would like you to meet my youngest sister and my only brother." He whispered into my ear but I kept looking at the babies smiling at me from the cot. One of them raised their arms, like they wanted to be picked up.
"May I?" I said turning to him with a small voice laced with emotion. He looked taken aback for a moment but then smiled.
"Be my guest." He said and I gave him my best grateful smile and bend down to pick the baby girl up. She looked at me confused for a second, probably wondering who the new person was. I smiled at her and raised her tiny foot to kiss up lightly, she gave me a little smile. I then blew gentle raspberries on her tummy causing her to erupt into a fit of giggles causing two more laughs in the room.
"She likes you already." Louis said causing me to look up at him staring at us like he was lost in another world. I smiled at him as he broke from his trance too, causing us to look into each other's eyes. The moment broken by another coo heard from the crib. I looked away to look at his baby brother, now also raising their arms. Louis scoffed.
"He wants you too, now." He said shaking his head, he then turned to look at me and I turned to do the same. "What is it with this family and you?" I chuckled. Suddenly I heard a sob and I turned to see his brother on the verge of tears.
"Oh no." I said and Louis just laughed.
"Demanding one isn't he?" He said.
"Could you please hold your good hand out?" I asked him, he obliged after seeing the urgency in my face. I placed his sisters head on the elbow of his fractured arm, the bend of it making it perfect to hold her, he naturally put his other arm under her, clearly knowing what to do. His brother was crying completely now, the sound causing me pain. Louis looked at me worried as I let go of her and quickly picked up her brother.
"There there little one. Don't cry please." I said as I held him and swayed. "I don't like hearing it, it makes my heart hurt." I said gently as I rocked him in my arms. When his crying turned to gentle sobs I looked into his eyes as the wide sparkling orbs looked up at me. I smiled at him and he smiled back, the moment felt so overwhelming I saw my vision blur a little.
"Don't you go around worrying her like that." Louis voice came from behind me making me blink back my tears. I smiled at the little one in my arms as he bought his hand up to grab my hair. "Look at his face, he's going to be a complete Ladies' man that one." Louis said still from behind.
"So much like his brother then." I said with a giggle, he chuckled and walked up in front of us. I turned to look at him as his smile changed to a look a worry.
"Hey hey hey, there's no need to cry. He's always like this, he just wanted you to hold him is all." Louis said with so much concern it caused my eyes to fill up again. Unable to use my hands to wipe it away I just let them fall. "Hey", he said taking a step closer, putting his chin in top of my head and coaxing me gently, "What's the matter love?" He said. I looked down at the two babies smiled.
"It's nothing, really. I'm just being silly." He pulled away to look at me, still unsure. I looked down at the two who were looking up in awe and glanced between the both of us.
"They're just so beautiful." I said with a sigh. Louis smiled.
"That they are." He said and kissed my temple. We then just rocked them back and forth till they fell asleep. I turned to look at the large mirror on the side to see the both of us standing with the two of them. Louis looked up to look at my reflection and I smiled at him through it. He looked like he was about to say something but just smiled and turned around. I followed as I laid the one in my arms first and then took Louis' sister from his arms, gently laying her back into the crib. He then turned to look at me with a peaceful smile.
"I really want to kiss you right now." He whispered, I smiled and stood on my tip toes and pecked his lips.
"Okay." I whispered on his lip after and he smiled. We walked out the room with smiles.
A/N: It took me a while to find a piece to suit this particular moment, but when I did I wasn't disappointed at how perfectly they come together to deliver the best experience all over. I do value immersion to a fault. I hope you enjoy the chapter and the piano.
