Calem POV
Serena and I arrived at the Harvest Festival and she wanted to see the corn maze, so we went ahead and went towards that. We entered the maze and started to walk together as we continued to talk about our various areas of Kalos. I told her, "Y'know I grew up in Anistar City actually, they have a ton of psychic type pokemon there so that's how I met Meowstic. Hey, speaking of which, I haven't seen any of your pokemon yet, do you have any?" She nodded, "I do! I have a Fennekin, but she's pretty shy so I don't bring her out unless it's just me." I nodded, that is a pokemon I can relate to. Except for being around Serena, I feel comfortable around her for some reason. I feel like she's trustworthy, and nice, and-. I was walking past the turn Serena wanted to make, I readjusted myself and then followed her more closely for the rest of the time. She explained to me, "Yeah. I come from Vaniville Town. It's pretty small, but hey, it's also pretty nice. My Mom used to be a ryhorn racer. I thought I might want to do if to but I was never all that good at it." I nodded, "I understand completely. My parents were super successful, and they wanted me to be the next in the business, but I never liked doing it, and well to be honest I still don't know what I want to do, but I hope I'll figure it out soon." I felt my heart beating faster, we were lost in the middle of the corn maze, I'm not worried about that though, it's just Serena and I are completely alone... Maybe now I should tell her... I know I'm her friend and nothing more right now, but I'm not good at hiding stuff, and honestly I feel like I should just go for it. A surge of bravery filled me. Serena continued to talk, "...and my friend Shauna is a pretty good trainer too, she ended up working at one of the salons for the Furfrou though... But yeah I gotta say, I'm enjoying life here." I took in a deep breath, "You know... I am too. And I gotta say a big reason for that is you..." Serena took a step back and flushed a bit, oh no... I guess I can't stop now though, "... uh...and I uh... Serena I- I like you..." Serena smiled and scratched the back of her head, "I-... Wow...I like you too Calem!" I cocked my head, "Really?" She nodded, "Sure! I was eventually going to tell you, but I wasn't sure if you felt the same!" I hugged her for the first time, I don't do much hugging or anything like that so this was quite a milestone for me. Serena giggled, "Alright, well your first task as my boyfriend is to get me out of this maze alive... I'm starving." I hadn't thought about it but I was too. I nodded, "I'll do my best." I extended my hand to her and she took it and then we searched for a new route to take.
Hilbert POV
I picked up a small rock I found on the ground next to the corn maze, then threw it in to the corn as far as I could. Hilda looked at me, "Why'd you do that?" I shrugged, "Uh... I saw a rock, and I wanted to throw it in to the corn field..." Hilda sighed, "Who even gets impulses like tha-" just then I heard a pebble scorch past my head and heard Gloria's thickly accented voice follow, "YEEEEAAAAH. Nice shot Cinderace!" I heard the Cinderace happily yell back. Hilda shook her head and laughed, "You guys are something, I'll give you that." I nodded, "I like to think I keep things interesting. Anyway let's go in the maze now, I'd like to actually finish it before it gets dark out." Victor agreed and led us through the entrance. I looked over to Hilda as we walked, "You ever travel outside Unova before? Like besides here?" Hilda shook her head, "Yeah besides the trips we've taken here, no." I thought for a moment, "You know part of the reason I want to be involved with water pokemon is so I can travel around oceans and what not and see new places. You ever feel the urge to do that?" Hilda thought for a moment, "I suppose not, but now that you talk about it, it does sound really relaxing." She paused for a moment, "Hold on, the tunnel in Unova that has all the water Pokemon- that same town had a col-" I sighed and finished her sentence, "A college, yeah I know." Hilda held her hands out, "Well why didn't you just go there?" I shrugged, "Gut feeling. I just had this feeling I'd enjoy it a lot better here." Hilda looked at me like I was crazy, "You chose your college... based on a gut feeling?" I shrugged, "Yeah." She giggled, "Well I did the same! Something about this place just seemed like it was the place to be y'know." I nodded, "Exactly, I don't think you're as different from me as you think you are." She scoffed, "Well I'll give you one thing. It sure would be a lot more boring around here without ya." I laughed, " 'Guess I'll take that."
Lillie POV
"Uhhhh....are you sure you guys don't want to go to the corn maze or something instead?" I asked while slightly quivering. Just because I made leaps and bounds in my confidence doesn't mean I like testing it all the time! May looked over to me, "I mean you don't have to go if you don't want to, I'm sure-" I pursed my lips, "No, I was just asking." Sometimes I can be a little overconfident. Selene walked in first saying, "Well then let's not delay! Last one through is...well actually if you stay longest you could make a case for being the bravest so uh... nevermind." The group followed in to the building. It was really dark... I couldn't really see anything, but I felt Elio beside me so I figured I'd just stick by him. There were lots of fake spiders hanging on the wall. Nothing really bad so far I suppo- "AH!!" I screeched as someone in a spider costume emerged from a hiding spot and jump scared me. I closed my eyes but I was still moving forward. I finally opened them and realized that I had myself wrapped around Elio, and that the reason I was moving forward was because I was practically making him drag me, I detached myself, luckily for me again it's dark so he can't see how hard I'm blushing, "Sorry..." I said sheepishly, Elio patted me on the back, "No problem! Let's keep going." I responded, "O-Ok..." He looked over to me, "You want to stay close? I understand if this scares ya, to tell you the truth it's not my thing either. I don't like to test my courage in case it would run out when I need it." I looked up to him, "If- if you don't mind..." He shook his head, "Not at all!" I stood behind Elio and put my hands on his back and he pushed us forward, there were a couple things that came out that mildly scared him, but he did his best not to jolt or halt me. I felt safe. We eventually made it out and I removed myself from his back and thanked him under my breath as we walked out to meet Selene, Brendan, and May. May asked, "You guys do alright?" Elio nodded, "Yeah! That was kind of fun actually." Brendan laughed, "I think I was more scared than May was." May chuckled, "You were." Elio laughed too, "Yeah I think Lillie did better than I did, I jumped a lot, thankfully for everyone's ears I didn't scream or anything." I laughed, "It's because I couldn't see!" Selene gave us all a thumbs up, "Yeah. That was fun. You guys ready to head back now?" I nodded, "Sure." We all walked and talked on the way back, May and Brendan were always hilarious to have conversations with, but my mind was still locked on one moment from today. I wonder what this feeling is?
Serena POV
I smiled happily as I held Calem's hand as we walked back from the Harvest Festival, I looked over to him, "You're the best! Thank you so much for asking me out!" He blushed a little bit and scratched the back of his head, "Uh...well I appreciate it Serena but honestly you're out of my league, I have no idea why you think this is a good idea." I giggled, "You sell yourself way too short you know. You're nothing but kind and caring to me and I appreciate it, you were the first friend I made here, and, well, I think you're the only one I need!" Calem chuckled, "No idea what I did to deserve you... I don't think I'll ever know." I smiled and we continued to walk together until we finally reached the dorm area and separated after saying our goodbyes.
Victor POV
I met up with Hop after our group got done at the Harvest Festival, Hop's brother Leon, the Champion of Galar, finally got some free time and came to see Hop today. Hop didn't mind missing out, he loves and looks up to his brother. But I felt bad that he didn't get to go, so I decided to meet him at the campus restaurant, one of those places that just has everything. He was waiting for me for when I got there. I sat down across from him, "Hey Hop, how's your brother?" He smiled, "He's doing really good, I worry that the pressure of being the Champion gets to him sometimes, but he seems to be doing just fine y'know." I nodded, "Yeah, I understand. Harvest Festival was pretty fun, but we missed you there." Hop sighed, "Thanks. Hey there's something I want to get off my chest... Do you care?" I shook my head, "Go ahead." He sighed, "Honestly it's so hard to see him, I see where he's at...and I couldn't even make the battling team here. I just wonder what I'm even doing sometimes." I frowned, "Well Hop, first off you're my friend and I'm sorry you're feeling down, second off, I have a feeling you'll make the battling team still. May not be this year, but sometime." Hop scratched his head, "How do you figure that?" I shrugged, "I don't figure. I just know." Hop looked confused, "Well how do you know?" I chuckled, "Gut feeling. Never led me wrong before, something tells me it won't now." Hop smiled, "Heh. I appreciate it Victor. Thanks." I nodded, "Of course."
