Chapter 15- Home for the Holidays

Victor POV

I swung open the door to my home in Wedgehurst. "Mom! Kira! I'm home!" I looked around and then felt a harsh pressure on my leg, "Victor!!" My 6 year old sister yelled as she attached herself to my leg. I laughed and ruffled her hair, "Hey Kira." Mom walked out of the living room and laughed when she saw us "Welcome home Victor!" I smiled, "Thanks!" I looked around, "Er- you want me to go ahead and take care of the Wooloo for today?" Mom nodded, "If you're not too tired that'd be really helpful." I nodded, "I'll get to it then."

Later after I finished caring for the flock of Wooloo I came back in the house, "Victor. You have a guest here to see you." I heard Mom yell to me. I put my hat down then looked up, "Really? Who-" I saw Marnie standing in front of me, smiling slightly and giving me a cautious wave. I walked over and hugged her, "Marnie! Good to see you!" She laughed quietly, "Er- yeh good to see ya too Victor." I separated from her, "You came all the way from Spikemuth to see me? I'm honored what can I say?" I said jokingly, Marnie held the back of her head, "Er- yeh... I wouldn't miss my friend comin' home..." I laughed , "It's a joke Marnie. But I am glad to see you, here why don't you take a seat in the living room, I'll get us something to drink."

My mom helped me make some tea, then we brought it out to the living room. I sat down, "So Marnie, is Piers still doing good?" She nodded, "Yeh. Heheh. He's enjoying his free time." I looked questioningly, "So, is being the gym leader tough?" She thought for a bit, "Ehm... I... Well kinda...it's a little rough when I take a loss every now and then, but seeing the real talent that some challengers have is motivating." I smiled, "That's a nice outlook." She laughed, "I like to think so, but how about you? What's the team like up there?" I shrugged, "Lots of interesting personalities that's for sure. We've been doing quite well as far as our matches are going." Marnie perked up, "Aw yeh! I remember! I saw your match against Wyndon, you guys throttled them! You were really good." I chuckled, "Aw come on, Brendan ran off with that one, made my job easy." Marnie shook her head, "Well, you were the last one left. That means without you they wouldn't've won." I shrugged, "Maybe. But it's a team game y'know." Mom looked over, "And you're a very important part of it Victor." Marnie laughed, "What she said."

May POV

What a fun Christmas. Brendan and I exchanged gifts and ate together like usual, but something about it being on Christmas is special. It's kinda late now, I wonder when Lillie is gonna get back He-, "OH MY GOODNESS MAAAAAAY." Lillie screamed as she flung open the door. She was unbelievably flustered and excited and was gushing words at 100 miles an hour. I held my hands out, "Lillie. Don't forget to breathe ok." She paused and then her eyes went back from ultra alert to relaxed. She then began to take her coat off while starting to speak again, "Right... Sorry about that May." I shook my head, "No problem really, what did you want to tell me." Lillie held her head, "I- Elio and I, we-, we're d-dating..." I immediately sat up, "WHAT!?" Lillie nodded furiously, "Y-yeah! I- he asked me even..." I stuttered my response, "Th-thats amazing Lillie! Congratulations!" She flopped on to her bed, "I can't believe my own luck." I smiled, "I'm happy for you Lillie... hopefully I'll get some good luck here too..." Lillie looked up, "Hey, don't think just because this happened that I'm not still going to do everything I can to help you out." I smiled, "Thanks Lillie. I appreciate it." She nodded, "Yeah... Uh...I'm spent...I'm gonna go to sleep now." I giggled, "Alright."

Elio POV

"SELENE!" I said spotting my friend over by the fountain. She looked back, "Oh. So you did survive the ice skating." I quickly replied, "Barely. But that's besides the point." Selene looked over, "Oh?" I smiled, "Ship sailed." Selene smirked, "Knew it. She obviously liked you." I cocked my head, "Was it obvious?" Selene giggled as she responded, "Not for an airhead like you." I shrugged, "Fair enough. Now about you and a certain brother of Lillie's..." Selene reeled and went red as I pointed at her, "AH! Ahaha! Score one for the airhead!" Selene looked up, "I hate you." I began to walk away towards my dorm, "Yeah see you soon. Merry Christmas to you too Selene." "Whatever."

Dawn POV

Practices are starting up again soon! I'm excited to hop back to it, that being said I've been sent on a mission. That being to meet Victor and escort him back safely. I saw the Corvinight Taxi land close to where I was and I beckoned Victor to follow me. He approached and I greeted him, "Hey Victor. How was your break?" He smiled, "All good things. Met a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while and got to see my little sister. So yeah. It was refreshing." I questioned him, "You have a little sister?" He nodded, "I do. Kira. She's about 6." I giggled, "Well that's nice. Hopefully she doesn't miss you too bad." He shrugged as we continued to walk, "It's...yeah it's always tough leaving here but ah... She's ok. She's tough." I smiled, "That's good. Ready to get back to practice?" He nodded excitedly, "Oh for sure! I've got a lot to prove this half." I nodded, "Me too. Anyway I got you to where they wanted me to, Im sure you could've found it yourself but what kind of fun is that?" He chuckled, "Right. Thanks Dawn." I nodded, "You betcha."

Ethan POV

I stood in the practice room bouncing up and down on my feet to get myself warmed up. Just then Calem and Serena came through the door, they were holding hands and talking about something. I looked back, "Hey guys." Calem returned, "Hey Ethan. You're here early." I nodded, "No time like the present. You joining us or something Serena?" Serena giggled, "Nah! Its just on my way, I want to see him off." She said as she planted a kiss on Calem's cheek. He reeled and went red, then mumbled, "Can you please not do that in public..." Serena laughed awkwardly, "Eheh. Sorry. Good seeing you Ethan." I nodded, "Likewise." She left and then it was just me and Calem. Calem sighed, "She's the best thing that's ever happened to me..." I smiled, "I'm glad! We've got a conference to win though." He refocused, "Right. I'm your captain. Yeah. Yeah ok. Let's get to work." The rest of the team arrived shortly after and the refocused Calem stood in front of them and began to speak. "Alright guys! Welcome back. So we'll just be doing some more scrimmages today... But besides that I'll go ahead and give you guys the schedule. Next up is Driftveil, then Dendemille, then Alola Regional. All good with you guys." I noticed my roommate Elio shift moods as soon as he heard the last one. Calem noticed too, "Something the matter Elio?" He shook his head, "More personal stuff with them. I don't want to burden you guys with it, so just don't worry about it." Calem shook his head, "Alright. With all that out of the way it's time to get to work. Form trios and I'll go ahead and watch what happens." We all did so and practice began.
