Commentators POV

"Ladies and Gentlemen! It is a great day for a Pokemon battle here in Pasio University Stadium for their first homestand of the young season. We have an intriguing matchup of middle of the table teams for you today, it's a matchup of Johto and Pasio today, so don't go anywhere!"

Calem POV

I stood at the end of our tunnel as our team exited to cheers from the relatively small crowd here to watch us. I high fived all my teammates as they ran out, Brendan, followed by Hilbert, Hilda, Lyra, Dawn, Victor, then Gloria, then it was Elio and Ethan who came out last, did a rather lengthy secret handshake with each other before waving their arms up and down to excite the crowd. I laughed and shook my head as they passed me with wide grins on their faces and patted me on the back. I ran over to the crowd and looked up to the student section where I saw Serena, May, Lillie, Hop, Selene, and a few other people that I had never heard of or simply didn't recognize. I signaled to the team to get in the huddle. We circled up and I explained to them, "Alright, starting today, Brendan, Elio, backing us up I want Lyra, Ethan, and Hilbert. Remember, these guys tend to overextend, be patient and wait for your opportunity, let's grab a win today!" The rest of the team clapped and then broke to take their places. I walked over to Serena before the match start, she was wearing a Pasio University shirt and had some face paint under her eyes. She smiled at me, "Calem! You look happy today!" I smiled back, "There's definitely a reason for that, thanks for coming out to see me!" We hugged each other then I took my place in the center of Elio and Brendan who each gave me a fist bump before fist bumping each other. I looked down to Meowstic, who looked back up at me. I'm ready to go. This team is done losing.

Commentators POV

"And we are off! Blackthorn is once again pushing the pressure from the opening horn, Pasio is unfazed, their teamwork is astounding! They look like they're in midseason form already! And that's the first pick from Calem's Meowstic! 1-0 Pasio! Brendan grabs one as well, but gets traded out, so we stand at 2-1 now for Pasio! In comes Hilbert for Pasio. Elio with a huge shot! That makes it 3-1! After putting in a ton of work the Meowstic has finally fallen, but Pasio still has the lead. Ethan coming in for Pasio now... And Hilbert grabs one! 4-2! This is a superb showing from all parts of this Pasio University lineup! Elio falls, but is immediately traded out by Ethan! What a play on his part! And what great teamwork and chemistry Pasio is showing us today! Lyra makes her first appearance for Pasio and she closes it out! 6-3 Victory for Pasio University!! And what a roll this team is starting to get on!"

Ethan POV

I yelled and hugged Lyra and jumped as we finished off the game. I saw Kukui and Calem high fiving and getting excited while Elio and Brendan clasped hands and hugged. Hilbert and Hilda were talking about something enthusiastically, I looked out to the crowd and saw Kris cheering for us. I pointed up to her as the celebration continued. We rebounded super well after losing those first two matches. I know we're not at the very top of the standings yet or anything, but this sure is a good start to getting there if you ask me. Lucas walked over and high fived me, "Nice work on that strategy today.

May POV

I showed my phone to Lillie, "Look! If they just hold on for the rest of the season they'll make the conference Tournament at least!" Lillie thought for a moment, "Yeah. Only problem is that's 26 more games... But I think they can do it!" I nodded excitedly. After that we all dispersed and went back to our dorms. What a good day for Pasio.

We got back from the room and Lillie seemed a little bit off. Everyone was absolutely buzzing about how good our team was, but Lillie seemed more worried about something than anything? I asked Lillie, "Is there something wrong?" Lillie made a 'hm?' sound and then shook her head, "No, everything is great!" I stared at her before cooking up a plan in my brain, this could be fun, albeit a little risky. "...if you tell me what's on your mind I'll tell you what's on mine." Lillie looked up questioningly, "I don't h-..." She sighed before continuing, "Oh fine! I- it's gonna kill me if at least someone doesn't know! I swear it's been eating at me for the last week or so... But at the Harvest Festival I-..." She turned her face down and stared at the floor, before looking back up at me, "...just...when I tell you...just don't tell anyone ok..." I sat down on my bed, "You can trust me Lillie. I'm good at keeping secrets." She sighed, "I- I think I like Elio." I tilted my head, "I thought you did. I don't see why you'd be so nervous about it though." Lillie sighed, "I just- maybe he likes Selene or... May I just don't know if he likes me back!" I looked at Lillie sympathetically, "Well... The only way you'd find out is if you ask him." Lillie sighed, "I knoooowww. But that's just such a weird question to ask out of nowhere!" I shook my head, then Lillie's face changed, "Hey- you said you were going to tell me something back, so what's on your mind?" Oh. Right. I could just make something up but that would be cruel after Lillie just told me that. Well I guess this makes us even. I sighed, "Well, I've liked Brendan for a while, but I don't know... We've known each other forever and he never asked me out, and usually he's a pretty straightforward guy, so I haven't asked him because I think that... More than likely he doesn't like me back." Lillie frowned, "Huh. Seems we're in similar situations then..." I realized that at the same time, "Yeah. Seems as though we are..." Lillie made a determined fave and told me, "You know what? I'll help you out with this however I can! I know how it feels and I want to help." I agreed, "Same to you. I guess we can help each other." Lillie extended her hand for a handshake jokingly and we both giggled as I accepted.
