Chapter 9- The Harvest Festival

May POV

Lillie and I sat in the room waiting for some kind of news from the game. It meant a lot to our friends, and I for one, am feeling some second hand nervousness. At that exact moment, my phone rang and I quickly picked up, "Brendan, is that you?" I heard him on the other end, "Yeah. It's me." He sounded happier than usual, that's a good sign, "So...how'd it go?" He chuckled, "We won big, it was amazing." I cheered, "That's awesome Brendan! Congrats!" He chuckled, "Yeah I'm super happy! I'll come see you when I get back alright?" I nodded, "I'd like that! See ya soon Brendan." I hung up and Lillie smiled, "So they won?" I nodded, "Sure did, and by the way Brendan sounded, it was a pretty big one." Lillie sighed with relief, "That's good...Elio was really worried about it yesterday." I then nodded, "Well I suppose all that's left is to make my plans for the Harvest Festival." Lillie looked shocked, "Oh! I forgot! I'll have to ask some people to go with me..." I put my hands behind my head, "You can come with me if you want." She looked over, "Really? You wouldn't care?" I nodded, "Not at all, it'd be fun!" Lillie smiled, "I think I will then, thanks!"

Hilbert POV

I smiled, "Hilda, you did great today!" She smiled, "Yeah! I was so pumped, but trust me you could've done just as well, Elio was on something today..." I thought out loud, "Hm... Yeah he certainly seemed off, but he did incredible so it's all good with me." Hilda giggled, "Yeah. I want to work hard so we can keep winning!" I nodded, "For sure! But first we can relax for a bit at the Festival this weekend." Hilda cocked her head, "Oh yeah! I almost forgot. That should be fun."

Kukui POV

I received a call from Professor Oak. "Oak. What's happening?" He replied shocked, "This score I read isn't right is it? Did you guys just beat Melemele Regional 6-2? And Elio had... 4 KOs and 2 Assists... There's a mistake right? Those stats were meant for that Eric right?" I chuckled, "You're telling me you didn't watch, Oak?" He reacted shocked, "It's right!?" I affirmed, "Yep. The kids are motivated." I heard Oak, "Well tell them I said to keep it up, that's just incredible..." I then called Burnet, "Honey, did you watch the game?" She cheered, "I sure did! Elio sure opened things up for the team, great win!" I nodded, "He did, and I'm surprised, besides the trash talk to those other kids, he's rather humble about it, he chalks it as a team effort." Burnet sighed, "That's a relief, having a ton of egos on the team would be awful." I agreed, "For sure. Fighting amongst ourselves is the last thing we need, but yeah, I feel pretty good about picking up a couple more wins." Burnet agreed, "Yeah. I'll see you tonight then."

The Day of the Harvest Festival

May POV

I woke up at a time I much prefered this morning... 10 AM. Lillie, Brendan, Elio, Selene, and I were all going to the Harvest Festival tonight, should be a good bit of fun. I once again put on my hair ribbon and then looked around to see if Lillie was still around. She was. She was once again digging through all her things, looking for something to wear. I looked over to her, "Morning Lillie, what're- what're you doing?" She looked over, "Looking for a nice hoodie." She then turned back to her work and I shrugged. I tapped my foot nervously as I lost myself deep in thought. Lillie looked up, "Are you alright?" I shook our of my trance, "Huh? Oh... Yeah I'm good." Lillie sighed and then threw the clothes she had in her hands back in to the closet while saying, "Ah! Forget it I'm sure h-...Er- no one will care if I just wear my regular clothes." I'm not sure if I heard her slip up for a moment there or not, but I'll let it slide. I then headed for the door, "Alright, you ready to go?" She nodded, "Let's."

Serena POV

I finished putting on the outfit I had assembled for today, lots of plaid for the occasion. I took in a deep breath, yeah, I get pretty nervous around Calem. Like I have to impress him or something. Hopefully I can put that to the side for a bit and just have a good time with my friend. I finished straightening out my hair and then headed out. I was going to meet Calem by the fountain, hopefully he remembered...oh he did, there he is! He dressed in his usual blue jacket. "Hey! Calem!" He looked back and smiled, "Hey Serena." I smiled back and walked up to him, "You ready to go?" He nodded, "Yeah, Oh- you...uh... You look nice today..." I giggled, "Thanks! Let's go."
