May POV

Well this is gonna be a little awkward. I mean it's not like my roommate's boyfriend and mine just got in to a highly publicized fist fight on International television- oh wait that is exactly what happened.
I groaned and put the palm of my hand on my forehead. Just then I heard the door creak open. "...hi May." "Hey Lillie." We both stared at each other, with a sort of 'Im not gonna say anything about it' look. I then sighed, "So I'm gonna go ahead and address the elephant in the room..." Lillie scratched the back of her head, "Erm- yeah... I uh..." We both stood awkwardly before Lillie looked at me, "Uh... Just for the record we're cool right?" I nodded, "Yeah I mean neither of US had anything to do with it." Lillie sighed with relief, "Good... Uh... Beyond that though... What got in to them?" I threw my hands up, "I don't know! I've known Brendan for like... 15 years now, I've never seen him act like that." Lillie nodded slowly, "This worries me for Elio too... He seems to still be stuck on what happened with those guys...the Elio I knew... wasn't... nevermind..." I sighed, "Well we'll have to do something About it... I'll talk to Brendan. I bet I'll be able to get stuff out of him." Lillie nodded in agreement, "I'll do the same with Elio. He trusts me, if there's something I can help him with I'll do it." We both agreed and then put our plans in motion.

Calem POV

I held my head in my hands as I sat in my dorm. Disaster. I'm the captain for crying out loud! It's my job to keep these guys under control and I failed. Whatever. I heard a knock at my door, "Yeah?" "Calem..." I'd recognize that voice anywhere. I swung open the door. Serena was standing outside, arms at her side, I motioned her to come in and sit down and she did. She looked at me worriedly, "Do you want to...talk about it?" I shook my head, "I don't know what there is to say." Serena looked down, "I just want to help..." I immediately felt a wave of guilt. I put my hand on her shoulder, "Im- I'm sorry Serena. I didn't mean to take anything out on you..." She shook her head, "You weren't... I just hate to see you so sad y'know..." I smiled, "I'll be ok. Remember I came here to study, not to battle. So this isn't the end of the world." She shrugged, "I guess so... But do you think you'll be able to keep winning without those two?" I shook my head, "Probably not as much." Serena frowned, "You gonna have to find some replacements?" I shrugged, "Probably, but I just hope those two don't get suspended." Serena shook her head, "I don't think that's possible." I sighed, "Probably not."

The Day of the Disciplinary Hearing

Elio POV

I sat by myself in the dorm room. Ethan had left not too long ago. I have to go to the hearing to find out my punishment for being involved. What's worse is I'll probably have to see Brendan too. And he's about the last person in the world I want to see. Actually he can get in line. My social media had been getting bombarded with taunts from Rich and pretty much the whole world. The image of me getting punched in the face was rather viral. I heard a knock on my door. Probably Kukui. He's going to take me to the thing. How embarrassing... I opened the door, there stood Lillie. I looked sadly, "Lillie..." She put her hands on her hips. I think she might be mad, "Elio, what got in to you?' I shook my head, "Lillie I-" she shook her head, "You what? You forgot everything that made you what you are?" I was starting to get annoyed. I have enough on my plate right now. "What do you even mean by that." Lillie groaned, "Do you know why I liked you Elio?" I threw my hands up, "No I don't. Absolutely no clue." Lillie put her hands on her hips, "You were friendly! You didn't care what people thought! You faced unknown monsters from even more unknown places without so much as wavering! It wasn't courage as much as it was your easygoing nature! You had faith in your friends, and your pokemon! Whatever is happening now isn't you!" She stormed off after that, "Lillie w- wait!" She ignored me and walked off. I hung my head. You really did it now huh Elio.

Brendan POV

I arrived at the hearing place and stood outside waiting for things to get started. I got a call from May, I answered rather quickly, "May?" I heard her on the other end, "Brendan...what...was...I'm so confused..." I shook my head, "He wasn't following the strategy. I had to knock some sense in to him. He was making us look stupid." I heard May agitated on the other end, "Oh, he made you look stupid? Not you throwing a punch at him?" I was now growing annoyed. "Yeah. He threw back. Obviously this wasn't a one way thing." I heard May groan, "What happened to you Brendan? I've always known you as a competitor sure, but you always saw your rivals as people, not the other way around. You treated them well...and that was your teammate." She then hung up and I groaned. I decided to head inside and take a seat. Kukui sat between Elio and I, I'm not going to even look at him.

The chairmen sat around us, the lead one beginning, "Well I don't think we have that much to discuss. Fighting like that is an embarrassment to the entire sport. I think the most reasonable course of action would be to suspend them permanently." I stood up, "Permanently!?" The chairman shrugged, "Yes. Both of your actions were quite horrendous." Elio began to stammer a reply, but the door swung open, and in walked Dawn. She slid in near me and stood at my side, I looked up, "Dawn? What are you-?" She looked down, "Saving your skins." She then looked to the chair people, the lead one looked at her, "I'm sorry, who are you? Young lady I don't think you have permission to-" she cut him off boldly, "And I don't think you have permission to issue a permanent suspension." He scoffed, "Alright little Miss. What makes you say that?" Dawn tapped her hand on her side, "Well you see, I'm an undeclared student. And I'm trying everything- and I mean everything. Nursing classes, Theater, Pokemon studies-" the chairman sighed, "Just get to the point will you?" Dawn scoffed, "Rude. Anyway. That means I've taken some basic law classes as well. We studied the rulebook for this league as part of the material. And I remember reading there that if the school deems it on a first offense, their suspension can be reduced." The chairman looked shocked, the others began to whisper amongst each other. Dawn threw her hands up, "And here I thought you guys would know your own rules. I call Professor Oak to the stand." The chairman looked deeply annoyed, "This isn't a court case." Dawn looked at him and condescendingly said, "Clearly. You get in trouble for bending the rules in court." The chairman was absolutely fed up with her. It was actually quite funny. He looked around, "Will someone get her out of here please." I looked around. No one moved. The chairman sighed, "You know what, fine. Whatever. You're only suspended for the regular season. Just anything to get out of this stupidity." Dawn laughed dryly and did a highly sarcastic curtsey before leaving. Kukui's mouth was agape. So was Elio's. Mine probably was too. I mean seriously. What just happened. We left shortly after. I waited around outside for a bit purposefully so I wouldn't have to walk back with Elio. While that went well, I'm quite sad. May isn't even on my side anymore. I have nothing.

The next few days

Calem POV

I stood in front of the potential candidates to fill the new spots on the roster. I clasped my hands. "Welp. You all know the assignment. You showed up to be a part of this team. I want to see your best efforts. And the 2 of you that look the best get roster spots. That's how it is. Go ahead and show me what you've got." I observed for a long while. I was quickly impress by a young looking guy and his Rillaboom. I approached him. "Hey. Who are you?" He looked to me, "Name's Hop. I'm from Galar." I looked him over, "Hop, eh? Strange. You look a lot like Leon. Battle a lot like him too." Hop shrugged and smiled, "Eheh. That uh- that makes sense, considering I'm his brother." It finally clicked, I kept my cool though, "Well Leon's brother or not, you've impressed me a lot. Expect to be here regularly yeah?" He nodded excitedly, "Awesome! Thank you!" I smiled and then went back to watching. After a while I dismissed everyone except for Hop and this girl. This girl had just a Rowlet, and yet it was battling better than some fully evolved pokemon. I stared at her, "So. Who are you?" She smiled, "I'm Selene." I pointed at her and snapped my fingers, "You look familiar." She thought for a moment, "Perhaps you saw me with Elio. I'm his friend." I nodded, "Yep that's it. You seem quite talented yourself. You didn't try out earlier though, why's that?" She shrugged, "I thought I'd be a lot busier than I actually am." I shrugged, "Fair enough. Welcome to the team Selene. Hop. Expect your jerseys soon." They both nodded and thanked me Before leaving. This should be interesting.
