19. Lockhart

I was sitting in the Great Hall with Ron, Harry, and Hermione for lunch as Ron was trying to tape his wand back together.

"Just admit it, I'm doomed." Ron sighed staring at his wand sadly

"You're doomed." Harry joked

"You wouldn't be if you let me get you another one like I offered this morning. Seriously Ron, that thing is a safety hazard." I pointed out and before he could answer a flash went off

"Hiya, Harry. I'm Colin Creevey. I'm in Gryffindor too." The little blond first year with a camera smiled

"Hello, Colin. Nice to meet-" Harry started to say awkwardly before Colin started taking again

"They're for my dad-the pictures. He's a milkman, you know, a Muggle, like all our family's been until me. No one knew all the odd stuff I could do was magic till we got my letter from Hogwarts. Everyone just thought I was mental."

"Violet? Do you think you could talk for a moment?" A Ravenclaw boy in our year named Michael asked and I smiled

"Sure, Michael. I'll be back." I said to Harry who nodded and I followed Michael out of the Great Hall

"What can I do for you Mike?" I asked and he smiled

"Well I was wondering if maybe you wanted to study with me by the lake this weekend?" He asked nervously

"Oh sure, I don't see why not."

"I mean as...well I was kind of hoping that...-"

"Sure, it can be a date." I answered and he nodded happily

"Great, that's great. I'll see you Saturday then, bye." He said before rushing off to his friends and I smirked walking back towards the gryffindor table but stopped immediately at the sound of Molly's voice

"RONALD WEASLEY! HOW DARE YOU STEAL THAT CAR! I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! YOUR FATHER'S NOW FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK AND IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT! IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE WE'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT HOME!" There was a moment of silence as everyone stared at the floating red envelope waiting for it to do something else

"Oh and Ginny, dear congratulations on making Gryffindor. Your father an I are so proud." Molly's voice rang out softly a huge contrast from a few moments ago. I couldn't help but be slightly upset about that, because yes she was upset but she didn't have to embarrass Ron like that. After the envelope ripped itself to shreds there were laughs all around so I climbed up in the table

"Violet get down!" Hermione hissed at me

"I'm a minute Mione. I have something to say! Attention and you gits who are laughing at my friend Ron, I would like to say that clearly none of you are cool enough to steal a car and drive it at 12 years old so maybe shut up. Unless of course-"

"Ok, down you go." Fred said pulling me off the table interrupting my speech, putting me over his shoulder as he carried me out of the hall

"Fredrick! I was in the middle for addressing the people!" I yelled making everyone laugh as I winked at Ron who gave me an appreciative smile for taking the attention off of him

"Miss Udaku!-"

"I know Minnie, detention. I'll be in your office tomorrow night!" I yelled to her as Fred carried me out

"So, Saturday. George and I have this great prank planned and we could use your help." Fred explained dropping me in the couch in the common room next to Lee

"Oh..." I mumbled

"Oh? Why oh? What's Oh?" Lee asked confused

"I sort of already have plans on Saturday."
