I was currently sitting in the stands with Hermione and a few other Gryffindor students as we watched the Gryffindor quidditch tryouts.

So far it looked like the team was going to be Ginny, and Dean as two out of the three chaser, Richie Cootie, and Jimmy Peakes as our beaters and Harry as our seeker. The third chaser position seemed to be between Demelza Robins and Seamus who changed his mind on being a beater, the keeper pointed was between Ron and Cormac.

After about an hour and a half Harry dismissed everyone and I was pretty sure Ron made keeper again like he wanted, with a bit of help from Hermione.

"Have to admit, thought I was going to miss that last one. Hope Cormac's not taking it too hard." Ron muttered as the four of us sat in the common room

"Has a bit of a thing for you, Hermione. Cormac." Ron added after a moment and I scoffed

"He likes anything with a pulse. It's absolutely vile." Hermione muttered disgusted and I nodded remembering the numerous times Lee and I caught him flirting with the twins.

"Ever heard of this spell?" Harry asked pointing to an inked in spell in his potions book

"Sectumsempra...For Enemies." I read confused before shaking my head

"No I haven't. And if you had a shred of self-respect you would turn that book in." Hermione pointed out

"Not bloody likely. He's top of the class. Even better than you, Hermione. Slughorn thinks he's a genius." Ron joked earning a glare from her

"What?" He mumbled

"I'd like to know just whose book that was. Let's take a look, shall we?" Hermione asked leaning over towards where Harry was laying with his head against my shoulder

"No." Harry immediately said holding the book out of her reach as he sat up

"Why not?" She asked suspiciously and I shook my head looking down at my laptop

"It's... old. The binding is fragile." Harry lied

"The binding is fragile?" Hermione repeated in disbelief. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Ginny snatch the book from Harry's grip

"Violet!" Harry whined

"Children play nice." I scolded sarcastically, laughing when they replied 'sorry mother.' In unison.

"Who's the Half-Blood Prince?" Ginny asked and I looked up at her

"The who?"Ron, Hermione, and I asked confused

"That's what it says. Right here. 'This Book is the Property of the Half-Blood Prince.'" She read turning the book so we could all see it.

"Never heard of them." I muttered with a shrugged as everyone else made sound of agreement

It was nearing the middle of October and everyone in our little group had mixed feelings about Draco. Some thought he was a traitor, some thought he was cursed, Harry refused to talk about him because it made him angry, and it seemed that Fred and I were the only ones holding out hope that he'd come to his senses. Thus far those of us that still attended Hogwarts had all had horrible encounters with him which sucked but I refused to say a single bad thing about him because while he isn't my friend I'm still his, and I still care about him.
